Welcome to the Valentine Candy Break Head to Head Trophy Guide!
The 6th Head to Head instalment of the “Brick Breaker” series from Indie Developers smobile hits the PSN and just like the others you are looking at a nice fun, easy platinum that will take you no time at all.
Roadmap:
Step 1: Play One Vs. Match
You will need a second controller for this, or the ability to Remote Play with a mobile device.
You do not need to win, or score a certain amount of points, so simply start the 2 player game and purposely control your player 2 to ensure all 5 lives are lost in no time by letting the ball past your paddle.
You’ll be earning these trophies: Multiplayer level played
Step 2: Play With & Beat 3 Different Characters
During this step you will need to focus on beating 3 opponents for 
3 characters defeated, whilst ensuring you go back to switch planet after each victory. This will ensure that you obtain 3 characters played also.
Most of the other trophies will come along the way, however you may need to do a bit of miscellaneous clean-up.
Step 3: Miscellaneous Clean-Up
This is where you’ll need to refer to the specific trophy that you are missing within the guide below. I have tried to show the best possible level to obtain the trophy, however with a lot of the trophies you are also able to obtain them on a number of different levels.
Tips and Strategies:
Suggested levels here for a quick Platinum are 3rd (Rai), 4th (Tami) & 5th (Seina)
As with the latest few games, Valentine Candy Break Head to Head only requires you to collect power-ups, rather than multiple ones, or defeating a number of enemies a certain way.
It is highly likely that you will obtain the miscellaneous collectible trophies simply by collecting all the power-ups that drop.
Listed here for what each Power Up means. Note the power up “Mega Bomb”. Details on this can be found below in 
Mega bomb.

There is no actual timer within the game, so there is no real way of knowing exactly how much time needs to elapse for this trophy to pop.
I would suggest this will come naturally during a level whilst playing, as there are a number of levels that have many power ups.
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 Slow player Completed a level slowly. |
There is no actual timer within the game, so there is no real way of knowing exactly how much time needs to elapse for this trophy to pop.
You will simply need to ensure that you stay one step ahead of your opponent in order to win at the last minute if this trophy does not come naturally.
Personally I achieved this during a game with the 4th character Tami.
 Eros defeated Defeated an Eros mini boss. |
Eros can appear in multiple levels and numerous times.
All you need to do is defeat the Eros the first time you see him by any means necessary.
Personally I achieved this during my Vs. Match with the 1st character Ami.
 Cupid defeated Defeated a Cupid mini boss. |
Cupid can appear in multiple levels and numerous times.
All you need to do is defeat the Cupid the first time you see him by any means necessary.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Anteros defeated Defeated an Anteros mini boss. |
Anteros can appear in multiple levels and numerous times.
All you need to do is defeat the Anteros the first time you see him by any means necessary.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Turbo player Hit ball 3 times in turbo paddle mode without losing life. |
Hold 
to make the paddle speed increase and try to bounce the ball 3 times without letting it past you. Very simple to do on the earlier levels.
 Sticky player Caught ball 3 times with sticky paddle without losing life. |
The Sticky Paddle Power Up will let the balls stick to your paddle in order to better select a shot that will be at the angle of your choice. When you have the ball stuck you will need to press the 
button to release the ball back into the play area.
Simply catch the ball (or a combination of balls) 3 times and fire it back up without losing a life in between.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Shielded player Hit ball 3 times with shield (bottom wall) without losing life. |
The Shield Power Up gives you a barrier at the bottom of the screen just in case you let the ball past.
For this trophy you are required to let the bouncing ball hit the barrier 3 times before it expires. When you get this Power Up simply let the ball past you and keep your paddle out of the way.
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 Invincible player Survived a mini boss attack through invincible paddle. |
You will need to collect the Invincible Paddle Power Up and then let one of the Mini Bosses hit your paddle with the fire shot whilst your paddle is still Yellow for this one.
Personally I achieved this during a game with the 4th character Tami.
 Slow and steady Destroyed 3 items with slow ball without losing life. |
Sometimes a bit tricky as collecting the Slow Ball Power Up will put the speed down to 0.5. thus making it harder to get that ball bouncing up and down enough to destroy the cakes. Fortunately the Power Up items also count for this trophy and only require one hit to destroy.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Laser collected Collected laser power up. |
As soon as you collect the Laser Power Up you will have the ability to fire with the 
button.
All you need to do for this trophy is collect one as it falls.
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 Wide paddle collected Collected wide paddle power up. |
As soon as you collect the Wide Paddle Power Up your paddle will increase in size, thus making it easier to bounce the ball off of.
All you need to do for this trophy is collect one as it falls.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Fireball collected Collected fireball power up. |
The Fire Ball Power Up will turn your ball to fire and destroy everything in its path.
All you need to do for this trophy is collect one as it falls.
Personally I achieved this during my third match with the 5th character Seina.
 3-ball collected Collected 3-ball power up. |
The 3-Ball Power Up is quite a tricky one, as collecting it will give you three ball total to play with.
Luckily, all you need to do for this trophy is collect one as it falls.
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 Laser lord Destroyed 5 items with laser without losing life. |
As soon as you collect the Laser Power Up you will have the ability to fire with rapidly tapping the button. Simply destroy 5 items whilst this is active.
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 Fireball fury Destroyed 5 items with fireball without losing life. |
The Fire Ball Power Up will turn your ball to fire and destroy everything in its path. The first time you collect this you will most likely obtain this trophy, as long as you keep the ball alive.
This can be achieved in a high number of levels throughout the playthrough and will most probably come naturally.
Personally I achieved this during my third match with the 5th character Seina.
 Heart Bomb Destroyed 3 items with a bomb. |
The Mega Bomb allows you to control exactly where you want to place a bomb shot. This is extremely useful if you have things stuck in a corner that you are struggling to reach.
As shown below, once you have collected it you can control the target with the Right Stick and then fire a shot with the 
. You have 3 shots of the Mega Bomb once you have collected the power up.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 Combo power up collected Collected a combo of 3 or more power ups. |
For this you will need to destroy the power up items in quick succession and then collect the power ups that fall whilst others are still active.
Very easy when you obtain the Laser Power Up early in a level, as you can destroy the breakables that you want and collect lots of power ups.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.

Easier in the beginning levels, as the opponents are easier to begin with. Try not to rush the level and concentrate on collecting all of them, including the ones that fall from the beaten Mini Bosses.
You are allowed to lose a life between collecting these.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.

You will need to make it through at least one level without letting the Mini Boss shoot your paddle with their fire shot.
Most levels feature Mini Bosses, so you would be earning these one naturally as you play through the minimum 3 levels required
Personally I achieved this during my second match with the 4th character Tami.
 7 lives win Completed a level with 7 or more lives remaining. |
You start each level with 5 lives and you can gain lives by collecting the “Life Collectible” a couple of times within one level.
Lives are also awarded you every 10,000 points obtained.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 High 5 player Destroyed an item at 5x speed. |
Getting your ball to 5x speed can be quite tricky. The aim here is to keep bouncing the ball off of the lower items to increase the speed it returns.
Also, try to stay away from the power-ups as they slow your ball.
 30K points scored Scored 30000 points in a level. |
This will come naturally as you play. Points are award for breaking the breakables and completing the levels as quickly as possible, with more points awarded the quicker you combine and destroy thing whilst completing the level.
The quicker the ball is moving, the higher the multiplier is, so try to keep the ball moving as fast as possible.
You also gain more points at the end of the game based on how many lives you have left.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 3 stars earned Earned total 3 stars in game. |
Accumulative across all levels – You will most likely earn this within the first game you play.
 3 coins collected Collected total 3 coins in game. |
Easily obtained naturally as you play through. Coins are collected like Power Ups and are accumulative through out your playthrough.
 CPU defeated Defeated CPU in 1P play mode. |
When you beat your first opponent this trophy will pop.
If you are struggling with any characters feel free to restart them, as each time you do the layout of the level is different; therefore no 2 games are the same.
 Multiplayer level played Played a level in 1P vs 2P mode. |
You will need a second controller for this, or the ability to Remote Play with a mobile device.

You’ll need to win 2 matches in a row against the CPU in order for this one to pop.

 Immortal player Completed a level without losing life. |
You need to complete a level without loosing a life. Simply put, do not let the ball go past you, or get hit by a Mini Boss’ Laser.
 40K points scored Scored 40000 points in a level. |
This will come naturally as you play. Points are award for breaking cakes and completing the levels as quickly as possible, with more points awarded the quicker you combine and destroy thing whilst completing the level.
You also gain more points at the end of the game based on how many lives you have left.
Personally I achieved this during my first match with the 3rd character Rai.
 3 win streak Defeated CPU 3 times in a row. |
You’ll need to win 3 matches in a row against the CPU in order for this one to pop.
If you are struggling, then keep practicing different levels until you feel you are getting better at the game and then head back to the first few characters to attempt this trophy.
 5 stars earned Earned total 5 stars in game. |
Accumulative across all levels – You will most likely earn this within the second game you play.
 5 coins collected Collected total 5 coins in game. |
Easily obtained naturally as you play through. Coins are collected like Power Ups and are accumulative through out your playthrough.

You will need to swap characters after defeating each opponent by selecting “Menu” at the end of each match and selecting the next character along.
Don’t worry, as this will not stop any “streak” that you are going for, so do this 2 times for the trophy.
 2 characters defeated Defeated 2 characters in game. |
Simply defeat 2 different characters for the trophy. Selecting Continue at the end of each match will take you to a different character, however in order to achieve 3 characters played you will need to swap your own player player before continuing by selecting “Menu” at the end of the match and picking a new character each time.
You will obtain this naturally whilst going for 3 characters played if you win each match, so do not even worry about it.
