Step 2: Hard++ Playthrough
During this stage, you’ll be playing through on Hard++ for the challenge that requires beating the game on Hard++. There is no New Game+, so you have to start from scratch, on a new file. The game is made a little tougher, but also a bit lenient considering you get 2 more skill points per level up. Keep in mind the requirements for The Crow this playthrough, as that can add another unnecessary run of the game if you mess it up. Refer to
Mission: Nearly Impossible for more information on what to expect during Hard++. Overall, the game isn’t too rough if you take your time and spec accordingly. After this run, you should have all but just a few trophies left.
During this step you’ll earn these trophies: A GOOD COMMENCE
DIE HARD
MISSION: NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE
THE CROW
Step 3: Grind / Clean up
During this stage, you’ll be finishing the grind to 10,000 kills for The Graveyard Is Overloaded, and finishing off any other random trophies. For the kill-related trophies, they all have to be done on ONE CHARACTER. The stats won’t carry over to all your characters. Refer to
The Graveyard Is Overloaded for information on where you can grind kills. After this stage, you will have the platinum for this very fun game.
During this step you’ll earn the following trophies: ALL TROPHIES OBTAINED
I AM BECOME DEATH
THE GRAVEYARD IS OVERLOADED
Tips and Strategies:
- Keep a variety of weapons. Some weapon types are better on enemies than others.
- NEVER sell any potions. You need to have 18 kinds of potions ALL AT ONCE for
The Potion Collector.
- Some areas have multiple entrances to it. So if you can’t find a missing light, go to the adjacent room and look for another exit to the room.
- Remember that you can zoom in and out using
. This is very useful when it comes to seeing what’s on the map that you’re in, and can help with planning your next move.
- Using
to target monsters that are on different levels than you is needed when using bows or magic.
Trophy Guide:
![]() ![]() Congratulations! |
![]() ![]() Start a new game and reach the first spirit box unharmed. |
In order to acquire this trophy, you have to first unlock the challenge for it called “A Good Commence”. Challenges are activated by finding the purple seals and interacting with them. To figure out where the challenges are, check out this guide, created by the Steam user MaximumDestroyer, right here.
Once you activate the challenge, you have to start a new game and make it to the save point unharmed. This is very easy as there are only a few enemies and traps along the way. If you mess up, it’s okay as the trophy only takes a couple of minutes to try. Once you reach the save point without taking damage, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Do not touch the ground or ladders for 18 seconds. |
To be able to unlock this trophy, you first have to unlock the challenge for it, which is “Wet Floor, Watch Your Step”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide to know where to unlock the challenge.
This challenge is actually very easy to do. Once you have activated the challenge, go to the top of the mine area and jump on the ropes. Simply ride the ropes down to the bottom of the area and you will complete the challenge and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Carry a collection of at least 18 different potions at once. |
This trophy requires you to activate the challenge, “The Potion Collector”, and have 18 different potions on you at once. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide showing where the challenge can be found.
The reason why this trophy is missable is that there are only 19 different kinds of potions in the game. Some potions can only be found once and if you use them, you can’t acquire them anymore. If you raise your potion skill to 10+, eventually you will be able to make almost all of the potions in the game, which are 17 to craft. There are two that can’t be crafted and must be found and are only limited in quantity. They are the Advanced Healing Potion and Advanced Regen Potion. When you have 18 different potions all on you at once, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Complete the room of traps unharmed in 50 seconds. |
NOTE: There is a glitch when it comes to this challenge. If you exit the game while in the Room of Traps, the game will glitch and the challenge won’t be able to start. The way to fix this glitch is to save at the save point, then close the application and restart it. Therefore, before you attempt this trophy, start from the save point. When starting from the save point, press then go to options > gameplay and then disable auto-save. Be sure to turn auto-save back on when you’re done.
To be able to get this trophy, you must first unlock the challenge called “Running Over Traps”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows where you can find the challenges.
Once you have this challenge, go the end of the Central Area, to the Room of Traps that you found the Mine Key in. You must complete this room in 50 seconds. This can be attempted even after you’ve acquired the key. There is a culmination of potions and scrolls that can help you make this challenge very easy. Go to Zoran’s shop and buy at least 5 Phase Door Scrolls. When you get into the room, stand under the first ladder, and activate a Potion Of Ghost Shape. Once that is done, climb the ladder and start the timer. You’ll then want to use a Phase Door Scroll to move to the end of the hallway, then climb the ladder, then use a Phase Door Scroll, and repeat until you complete the room.
After you’ve completed the room in 50 seconds, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Defeat Gauntlik while carrying 8 vampires in your inventory. |
In order to be able to obtain this trophy, first, you must unlock the challenge that is directly related to it called “A Hand With Vampires”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows you where you can find the challenges.
These challenges require just a bit of preparation. Gauntlik is the boss of the Prison area, and this trophy is missable because if you kill him without completing the challenge, you’ll have to do it on another playthrough. Now “vampires” are just bats that go into your inventory when they touch you and sap your health away. The best place to get 8 vampires, is by going to the upper right warp gate in the “East Zone”, which is the area that connects to the Library. In this room, there are “Vampires”. Now you must make sure you have 8 inventory slots open for all of them to sit in your inventory.
After you have 8 Vampires in your inventory, make your way to Gauntlik. Now, this is easier than it sounds, as this boss isn’t very tough, but you will die in 1 hit if he touches you. Refer to The Key Of The Halls for an in-depth look at the bosses’ attacks.
After you kill the boss with 8 vampires in your inventory, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Do not drink any potions until you have defeated the Dynidon worm. |
To get this trophy, you have to first unlock the challenge related to this trophy, called “Dry Law In Arrakis”, to be able to unlock the trophy. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that can show you the location of the challenge.
This trophy is missable, mainly because, even if you use a potion before unlocking the challenge, it will still void the challenge. Luckily, the Dynidon Worm isn’t that far into the game and is the boss of the second area. If you need to know how to defeat the boss, refer to The Key Of The Sewer.
![]() ![]() Carry 666 essences of each color, 666 coins and 666 divine favors at the same time. |
This trophy requires you to activate the challenge related to this trophy, called “The Devils Number”. Refer to A Good Commence to find a link to a guide that shows where the challenges can be found.
For this challenge, you need to have EXACTLY 666 of everything. You can buy essence in the kitchen shop, which is found in the Central Area and is indicated by the pot on the map. You can also grind essence if you’d like.
Magic Essence can be found in the following locations:
- Red Magic Essence – Is the most common magic essence dropped. It’s mostly found in the Center Area or the Mines.
- Blue Magic Essence – Is most commonly obtained from enemies in the Sewer area.
- Green Magic Essence – Is most commonly obtained from the enemies in the Gardens area.
- Golden Magic Essence – Is most commonly obtained from the enemies in the Library area.
- Arcane Magic Essence – Is most commonly obtained from the enemies in the Catacombs area.
- Yellow Magic Essence – This is commonly obtained from the enemies in the Laboratory and Prison area.
- Divine Favours – This is acquired by killing the enemies in the Catacombs area.
After you have 666 of everything you need, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Defeat Sux Mortis with skill level 1 in armor and constitution. |
To be able to unlock this trophy, you must first find and unlock the challenge related to this trophy, which is called “Death Level 1”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows you the location of the challenges.
The reason why this is missable is that after you defeat the boss, you won’t have another chance unless you play through the game again. There are a couple of ways to go about getting this trophy. You can either play through half of the game without raising your armor and constitution stat, although that’s not recommended, or you can complete the side quest “Begin the Begun” to get an item to respec your character. This side quest can be obtained from the character that is found in the room leading to the Necronomicon in the Catacombs area. Refer to The Magic Of The Dead to know where the room is. To complete the side quest, you must find 100 Blue Essences and 100 Arcane Essences. This is made easier by using some Scrolls of Immunity and using Potion of Ghost Shape.
There are a couple of ways you should prepare for this. One of the ways is by getting Light Magic and putting at least 2 skill points into light magic to make it more powerful and faster. Refer to The Magic Of Light on how to unlock light magic. Another thing you’ll want to do is get the Spirit Of Light because it will help tremendously. For information on how to acquire it, look here.
Refer to The Key Of The Laboratory for the strategy to beat Sux Mortis. Once you beat to meet the requirements for this challenge, it will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Dodge all falling rocks between the columns in the corridor to the mine. |
To obtain this trophy, you have to complete the “The King Of Dodge” challenge. You can’t complete this trophy until you unlock the challenge. Refer to A Good Commencefor a link to a guide that shows the location of the challenges.
Once you have the challenge, go back to one of the 3 rooms you went through with falling rocks, as you were entering the mine from the first area. To complete the challenge, you will have to stand in the middle of the set of pillars and dodge rocks for 1 minute. This will probably take many attempts, as the way the rocks fall is very random. If you can’t dodge a rock as it’s falling, wait for it to bounce and then walk under it. After it bounces once, it will then fall back to the ground and disappear. After you’ve survived not being hit by any rocks for 1 minute, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Defeat Medeox without killing any of its snakes. |
For this trophy to be attainable, you have to find and activate the challenge “Eye For An Eye”. This trophy is missable because if you kill the boss after killing one of its snakes, you fail the challenge and you don’t get another chance until a new game. Refer to A Good Commence for a link that shows you where to find each challenge.
During the fight for this challenge, make sure you are constantly moving to avoid the acid balls that the snakes shoot out. After Medeox is halfway dead, he will shoot out ghosts that will come after you. These are actually very helpful. If they hit you, the acid balls won’t be able to damage you, so most of the time it’s worth the hit to avoid getting poisoned.
This is one of the more annoying challenges, as the boss fight itself is annoying, and pairing the challenge with it, makes it even more annoying. Refer to The Key Of The Tower for more information on the boss fight, and a strategy to beat the boss.
After you beat the boss without killing any snakes, the challenge will unlock and the trophy will pop.
![]() ![]() Kill Corvax the Mage in HARD or HARD++ mode. |
For this trophy to be obtainable, you have to unlock the challenge related to the trophy called “Die Hard”, and kill Corvax The Mage, who is essentially the final boss of the game, on Hard or Hard++, which is pretty much Very Hard. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows you where to start each challenge.
Corvax is very, very simple when compared to all the other bosses of the game. While traveling through the last area of the game, you will stumble upon Corvax. When you enter the map he’s in, there will be no dialogue or introduction, the fight will just start. Corvax only has one attack, which is just shooting out projectiles from around his body, that damage and stun you. After his attack, he will teleport to a random location on the map and do his attack again and just repeat the process. Using bows or magic is the best bet for this fight. After attacking him and getting damage done, the fight doesn’t last long. After half of Corvaxs health is gone, he will cast a healing spell on himself and heal 20HP each time, over a period of time. Luckily, that doesn’t matter as he doesn’t have that much health anyways.
After you kill Corvax while playing on Hard or Hard++, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock. Refer to Mission: Nearly Impossible for information on what to expect while playing on Hard++.
![]() ![]() Reach the Twin Crystals in HARD++ mode. |
In order to get this trophy, you have to unlock the related challenge called “Mission: Nearly Impossible”, and complete it. This trophy requires you to beat the game on Hard++, which is essentially Very Hard. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows you the location of the challenges.
While playing on Very Hard, there are a couple of things that you have to keep in mind, and they are as follows:
- The game doesn’t auto-save. That means, no checkpoints, and you have to make sure you manually save very often!
- The enemies attack a bit faster and hit harder, as to be expected while playing on a higher difficulty.
- Normally, when you get hit, you get a few seconds of invulnerability before you take more damage. On Hard++, this window is now no longer there, so enemies can hit you constantly and easily kill you.
- You get 2 more skill points per level up on Hard++. It’s recommended you level up Swords, Maces, Bows, Healing Magic, Constitution, Armor, and Arcane Magic, so you can control skeletons which is needed for the last area.
- Enemies see you from further away so it’s harder to sneak upon them.
After you complete the game on Hard++, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Find Harnakon without killing any crows beforehand. |
In order to be able to acquire this trophy, you have to find and complete the challenge related to the trophy called “The Crow”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows the location of the challenges.
The reason why this is missable is that if you kill a crow even before activating the challenge it will still void the challenge. If you have completed The Magic Of Frost or
The Magic Of The Mind, you can’t complete this trophy.
After you’ve reached Harnakon at the top of the Tower Of Mages, there will be a dialogue with Harnakon, and after that, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() Bring 4 or more freed goblins to the mine without using teleport or gates. |
Note: This trophy may be a little glitchy. It took a couple of tries to make the trophy unlock. This is why it’s recommended to backup your save and not complete “Liberation Day” until you’re ready to attempt the challenge.
The requirements for this trophy is one of the hardest challenge requirements in the game, called “A Long Way To Minerary”. Refer to A Good Commence for a link to a guide that shows the location of the challenges.
This is easily one of the most annoying challenges in the game. One of the things you have to do for this challenge is to complete the side quest “Liberation Day”, which is found in the Prison area, where you find the goblins. There are 8 Goblins that you can rescue, and at least four of them have to make it to the mine alive.
One of the first things you should do to prepare for this is to unlock the shortcut in the save room by jumping and hitting the right wall. After this, make sure to equip at least one Ghost Shape Potion and a Speed Potion or two. These are used in the final area, just before the mines, so you can run through the falling rocks and hope that no goblins are hurt by them. Be sure to backup your save file just in case you fail before you attempt the challenge. You can also turn auto-save off by going to “Options > gameplay”, and disabling auto-save.
One thing you’ll have to be sure of while attempting this challenge is going very slowly and making sure the goblins don’t take damage! If all the Goblins die, you can’t restart the challenge.
When you make it to the Mine with at least 4 Goblins, the challenge will complete and the trophy will unlock. Refer to the map below for an optimal route to go with the goblins.
![]() ![]() Use the toy hammer to deal the final blow to a walking armor. |
The requirements for this trophy are just like the rest of the challenge-related trophies, where you have to find the challenge related to it, which is “The Toy Hammer”, and then complete it. Refer to A Good Commence for a guide that shows you where to find the challenges.
If you do this a certain way, it will be very easy. This is the route that will be mapped out. First of all, you wanna get the pet “Gatchan”. To be able to find this pet, you have to go to the far left top corner of the Halls area. There you will find a door with rocks around the outside of it. Go inside the door and you will be teleported to an area with lava and cobblestone platforms. Now this area can be annoying, and the reason for that is because of all the bat-enemies. If they hit you, they can knock you back and you could fall into the lava and die, which means having to restart the area. After 3 screens, you’ll be in a room with blocks and ladders. Start breaking the blocks to eventually find Gatchan. Some blocks have a ball in them that can damage you, but they don’t cause that much damage. After you find Gatchan, you’ll have to use a teleporting item like the “Halo” to get out of the area.
For the next preparation for this challenge, you have to get a weapon transformed into a “Toy Hammer”. It’s recommended to find or buy a really cheap, bad weapon because if you use a good weapon for this part, you’ll lose it. In the Halls area, you’ll find enemies that look like Jesters. Equip the bad weapon that you found or bought and wait for the Jester enemy to attack you. They will shoot a purple projectile at you, which will turn the weapon you have equipped turns into a “Toy Hammer” when it hits. Once this has happened, you’re ready to finish the challenge.
Using the warp gates, warp to the first one in the Halls area. There will be multiple, blue walking armors with axes. Seclude just one walking armor by itself and damage it a bit using a good weapon. Having Gatchan is where this gets really easy. He will attack the enemy and stun them, so then you can use the Toy Hammer and slowly kill the enemy, doing 1 damage at a time.
After the enemy dies from the Toy Hammer, the challenge will be complete and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have lit all lights in the central area. |
In order to obtain this trophy, you have to light all of the lights in the Central Area, which is the first area. You can’t get this until you have the key to the Library. Once the key has been acquired, go to the top right of the area, and use the key in the room to unlock the HarnaBank. This is a safe place that you can dump items where they won’t disappear or be stolen by enemies. Once they are all lit, the trophy will unlock. ![]() ![]() You have lit all lights in the tower of the mages. |
This trophy requires you to light all of the lights in the Tower Of The Mages area, which is the fourteenth area of the game. Once they are all lit, the trophy will unlock.
To get through this area, it is STRONGLY recommended you complete the side quest for The Magic Of The Dead and put a couple of stat points into Arcane so that you can use Arcane Control, as there are enemies in this area that are out of reach, and summon skeletons, and can only be hurt by controlling those skeletons.
Refer to The Whole Castle Is Lit to know which areas aren’t lit and to see a full map of the game.
![]() ![]() You have lit all lights in the prison. |
For you to get this trophy, you have to light all of the lights in the Prison area, which is the eleventh area of the game. Once they are all lit, the trophy will unlock. Refer to The Whole Castle Is Lit to know which areas aren’t lit and to see a full map of the game.

![]() ![]() You have lit all lights in the laboratory. |
To get this trophy, you have to light all of the lights in the Laboratory area, which is the tenth area of the game. The Laboratory is accessed from the top left corner of the Gardens area. ![]() ![]() You have lit a quarter of all lights in the whole castle. |
This trophy requires you to light 25% of all of the lights in the castle. This will come naturally as you are lighting all the lights in each of the areas in the game. Refer to The Whole Castle Is Lit for a full map of the game and to know which areas don’t have all the lights lit.
![]() ![]() You have lit the half of all lights in the whole castle. |
To have this trophy unlock, you have to light 50% of all the lights in the castle. This will come naturally as you are lighting all the lights in each of the areas in the game. Refer to The Whole Castle Is Lit for a full map of the game and to know which areas don’t have all the lights lit.
![]() ![]() You have lit three quarters of all lights in the whole castle. |

Refer to The Whole Castle Is Lit for a full map of the game and to know which areas don’t have all the lights lit.
![]() ![]() You have lit all lights in the castle!! |
This trophy requires you to light all of the lights in the castle. In each area of the game, there are lights that need to be lit and they look like a variety of different objects. Some are a brazier, some is a torch on the wall, and some are even giant candle stands.
When you enter a new part of the map, the area will be pitch black. As you start walking through, you will start to notice what each light looks like. To turn on a light, stand in front of it and interact with it by pressing . This will then light a portion of the area and count as a lit light. To know what areas have all of the lights lit, you can press
to open up the map, and you’ll know if an area has been fully lit as the portion of the map will be a solid block of the color of the area that you are in. If you are missing some lights, the portion of the map will not be colored in at all and will just be a black block with the outline of the color of the area you are in. Another way to know that all the lights are lit in the section you’re in is that when all the lights are lit, they will do a little animation that looks like an explosion. Refer to the picture down below for a reference of the full game map and an example of a lit room and an unlit room.
![]() ![]() You passed the test of traps and obtained the Key of the Mine. |
For this trophy to unlock, you have to fulfill a quest for an NPC and complete the Test Of Traps room. This room is located at the end of the Central Area, which is the first area of the game. This room can be a little tough if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Each trap is activated by a pressure plate on the floor that you can see. The tiny looking pressure plates shoot fireballs, which can be dodged by ducking. Near the end, there are 2 pressure plates that shoot fireballs that you have to jump to dodge the fireball. The other pressure plates are long, and they make spikes appear either out of the floor, the ceiling, or the wall next to a ladder. If you walk very slowly, you can just touch the edge of the plate and activate the spike traps and not get damaged. At the end of the room, there is a lever that you have to pull. Once you pull it, you have to return to the NPC and talk to them using , they will give you the key to the mine and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the first Guardian and obtained the Key of the Sewer. |
Be advised that up to this point, there is a missable trophy that is related to it. Refer to Dry Law In Arrakis for more details on the challenge.
In order to unlock this trophy, you have to defeat the first boss of the game which is the Dynidon Worm, which is in the Mines area and obtain the key to the second area. This boss fight is pretty simple as the boss is just a giant worm that has two attacks.
The first attack, it the once where you can do damage. It will appear from the ground and will rise all the way up out of the ground. What you have to do is run to the side, furthest away from the worm, and every time it slams down, you can attack the top of it to do damage. If you are on the side of the map that doesn’t have much room, you’ll lose your chance to deal damage. To avoid damage, simply stand next to it and wait for its attack to be done. When it’s lowering back into the ground, you can hit its head once if you’re fast enough to deal some damage.
The second attack is that it will rise halfway out of the ground and shoot eggs into the air three times. You can destroy the eggs as are, but some of them will stack hatch and make slug creatures. These are a good source of health as they will most likely drop hearts that heal 20HP.
After you defeat the boss and acquire the key, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the second Guardian and obtained the Key of the Gardens. |
For this trophy, you are required to beat the second boss of the game, which is Drakonius who is a dragon and acquire the key to the Gardens. At the end of the Sewers area, you will find a giant purple portal, which will take you to a fire area. You will have to go through a couple of screens of fire enemies before you reach Drakonius. It is recommended you get the pet Coldax, which is acquired from the Colder Than Ice quest, which is found at the very right side of the Sewers area in a door. You can find out how to activate the quest and how to finish it here.
For the fight with Drakonius, he has two attacks. If you have Coldax, this fight is a breeze. The recommended weapon to use is anything long-range, as he flies the whole time. If you have some frost-bolt wands, you can use those, or you can refer to The Magic Of Frost on how to get the Frost spell which costs 1 Blue Essence for every use.
The main attack Drakonius uses is he just shoots fireballs in an arc from the ground to the sky. Staying on the left side of the arena, under the bottom platform will protect you from the shots. If you have Coldax, while you’re hiding from the attack, he will still attack the boss. When you get chances, run out and press to target Drakonius’s head and use your attack of choice. When he attacks, run back under the platform away from the fireballs and just repeat.
The second attack he has, which he may not use, is he disappears from the screen entirely. If he does, quickly jump up the platforms on the left side of the arena. Eventually, Drakonius will fly in from the right side of the map going to the left, and if you’re on the top platform, you’ll be able to jump over his head. He will then revert back to his first attack, so drop back under the platforms.
After you have beaten the boss, pick up the key to the Gardens and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the third Guardian and obtained the Key of the Library. |
To be able to unlock this trophy, you have to beat the third boss of the game, who is Arbolus, which is a living tree and retrieve the key to the Library. Arbolus is weak to axes and fire. The best place to stand during the fight is right next to Arbolus. You’ll just have to pay attention to the green spikes rotating around him because if they touch you, they will launch you across the arena. Arbolus has two attacks and one move that summons a bunch of enemies.
For the move that spawns enemies, Arbolus will tip his head over and shoot out a bunch of wasps that might work their way from the sky down to you. They aren’t much of an issue in the fight, to be honest, and if one gets near you, just quickly dispatch of it.
The first attack that Arbolus mostly uses is a projectile attack. His nose will glow and he will shoot 4 projectiles at you. If you are standing under him during the fight, the projectiles won’t be able to hit you at all. If you aren’t fortunate enough to be under him when he launches his attack, simply standstill until the first shot is close to you and then quickly run to the left of the screen if you have space.
The second attack is more annoying than the first. Arbolus will raise his hands in the air, and then magic projectiles will fall from the sky in random places. This move is impossible to calculate where they projectiles will land as it is all random, so the best bet for this attack is to give up the offensive and focus on dodging the attack until it is over.
After you manage to defeat Arbolus, simply grab the key to the Library off the ground, and then the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the fourth Guardian and obtained the Key of the Catacombs. |
This trophy requires you to beat the fourth boss of the game, who is Neuron, and then collect the Key to the Catacombs. Prepare yourself for this one as it is easily the most annoying boss of the game. If you haven’t done it yet, refer to The Magic Of Healing to unlock healing magic, and put some level up points into it so you heal yourself for more health.
For this fight, you want to prepare yourself. First off, you’ll want to have the vault accessed, which is in the top right of the Central Area area. You can unlock it once you have the Library key. Once you have the vault accessed, you’ll want to drop all of your potions, and all of your warp items. This includes scrolls, the halo, any item used to transport to any NPC. The reason for this is because eventually you will get a status effect that will cause you to start pouring out your potions, and when you’ve taken out 3/4 of neurons health, he would inflict you with a status effect and MAKE you use a teleportation item, making you leave the room and then you’d have to restart the fight all over again. After you’ve prepared for this fight, head to it.
Make sure to NOT USE any pets for this fight, as their shots will reflect off of Neuron. Now for the fight. You will be in a room, and Neuron will be flying above you. He will move from side to side, and then stop in the air and shoot a beam of energy at you. This beam of energy will do damage to you over time until you hit Neuron. During the fight, the more you damage Neuron, the more status effects he’ll inflict with the beam. Eventually, you will get a status effect that will reverse your left and right controls. To damage Neuron, you have to wait for him to stop moving, and then go to whatever side of the map he’s closer to and jump up the platforms and climb the ladder. At the top of each side is a rope that you have to slide down and hit Neuron from. You may have to drop off the rope, or he’ll be in your way and you can hit him that way. The annoying part is you can only hit him once during each attempt.
After you slowly kill Neuron, pick up the key to the Catacombs and the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the fifth Guardian and obtained the Key of the Laboratory. |
This trophy will unlock after you beat the fifth boss of the game, who is Sux Mortis, and acquire the key to the Laboratory area. In-game it will talk about how this boss is the 6th guardian of the castle. It is wrong. Refer to Death Level 1 on ways to get prepared for this boss if you don’t have to Spirit of Light pet or the ability to use light magic.
This boss fight can be rather tough if you’re not prepared, or very easy if you’re overly prepared. Having a high skill level in light magic will make this fight a breeze if that’s how you’ve spec’d your character. If not, using bows will make it easier to hit this boss, as he is constantly in the air and out of reach of melee weapons for one of the main attacks that he does most of the time. This boss has four attacks, where three actually harm you, and one summons enemies.
For his main attack, Sux Mortis will float in one of the top corners of the screen, completely out of reach of melee weapons. During this time, he will throw one of his scythes at you and it will spin where it lands and then fly back to Sux Mortis, and he will do it again. This attack is quite easy to dodge if you know how to. If he is positioned in the top left corner of the screen, you’ll want to run to the left, and then as he throws the scythe, run to the right to dodge the scythe. If he is positioned in the top right of the screen, you’ll want to run to the right, and then as he throws his scythe, run to the left to dodge. If you’re quick enough, you can get in an attack after each scythe throw using either magic or a bow.
The second attack this he will do, is that he will position himself on the right side of the screen and slam his scythes into the ground, shooting out balls of arcane magic across the floor. This is very easy to dodge as all you have to do is jump over the balls as they are close to you. After you jump over each ball, you’ll have a small window to attack before you have to jump over the next one.
The third most annoying attack is when Sux Mortis positions himself on the bottom left corner of the screen. For this attack, he will move across the ground slamming his scythes. This can be tricky to dodge. One scythe will go out in front of him, and the second scythe will end up next to the first one, so you have a small window to dodge. When he moves forward, you’ll have to run into the space between the scythes and stand there until he moves the second one forward. If dodged correctly, you’ll find yourself behind him, out of the way of the attack.
For the fourth move, Sux Mortis will be positioned in the middle of the screen and slam his scythes into the ground and start sending out red shockwaves. This summons a lot of skeleton enemies, and this is where the Spirit of Light pet comes in handy as it will help attack the skeletons. This is also the perfect chance to deal damage to the boss as he is in reach, in one position, not doing anything. Eventually, he will fly off and you’ll be left with the skeletons for about 5-10 seconds before Sux Mortis comes back to the arena.
After you’ve defeated the boss and acquired the key, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the sixth Guardian and obtained the Key of the Halls. |
This trophy has a missable challenge related to it. Refer to A Hand With Vampires for more details.
For this trophy, you must defeat Gauntlik, who is the 6th boss of the game and is in the Prison area, and obtain the key to the Halls area. This boss fight can be easy or hard depending on what specs your character has. It’s recommended to have a bow level of 8+ to be able to get a decent damaging bow. Also, go to Zoran’s shop and buy at least 10 Phase Door scrolls. You’ll need them to avoid an attack very easily. The annoying part of this boss is that only one area can be hit to cause damage to the boss. Gauntlik is shaped like a gauntlet and on the right side of him is a red spot. If you’re using a bow, make sure you target it with . If using Melee, this will be quite a tougher fight. Luckily, there are only three attacks to look out for, and the boss will shake like crazy before he makes a hand sign for what move he’s about to do.
The first attack is the once that is used more than the others and you can’t damage him while he’s using it. When he’s done shaking, his fingers will be pointing to the ground and electricity will start to shoot out of the fingers. To avoid this, position yourself between the 2 middle fingers. Electricity will then shoot out, and you’ll have to slowly move left, then to the right, and then slowly to the left again. Be sure you stay between the electric currents or you’ll be hit. Luckily the boss moves gently to one side, then all the way to the other. After the attack is over, Gauntlik will be stationary for a few seconds so now is your chance to hit him.
The second attack is a bit more annoying. After all the shaking, Gauntlik will be making a fist. If this happens, the first thing you have to do is run to the right side of the arena. He will then pound the ground trying to hit you. Move the left, he will then try to pound you again, so move to the left a bit more. He does this attack 5 times before he stops, so give yourself room to avoid 5 fist pounds. After the attack is over, you’ll have a little window to deal some damage before the next attack comes.
For this third attack, this one can be annoying to dodge if done normally. Luckily, this is where the Phase Door Scrolls come in handy. After he’s done shaking, if Gauntlik is making scissors with his fingers, move to the left of the arena. He will then move to the right and act like he’s cutting a sheet of paper quite slowly. After he gets above the floor of the arena, use a Phase Door Scroll. After it’s activated, you’ll find yourself behind him if you did it properly, and now is the perfect time to deal a ton of damage. Even after the attack is over, you’ll still get the little window before his next move.
After you’ve defeated Gauntlik and picked up the key to the Halls, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You have defeated the seventh Guardian and obtained the Key of the Tower. |
Welcome to one of the toughest boss related trophies, besides Neuron, in the game. For this trophy, you have to kill Medeox and acquire the key to the Tower area. Medeox is a giant floating helmet, with snakes on his head, and a beam that comes out of the center of his head, that can kill you in one hit. If you pair this with Eye For An Eye, you can do the challenge on your first attempt of the boss, or wait until your second playthrough, after acquiring a bunch of UnEpic Points (300) from completing challenges and buy the Mini Space Ball pet that can kill the boss in 6 hits.
Onto the boss fight. You have to make sure you are targeting the eye the beam is coming out of, using . If any of the acid balls from the snakes hit you, you’ll lose the targeting and have to target the eye all over again. This fight can be very infuriating if you aren’t spec’d right. You need either a bow or fire magic to defeat Medeox. After activating the shrine to summon Medeox, make sure you are looking to the right, as Medeox has a beam coming from his eye, where if it passes you while you’re looking at him, you die instantly. Luckily, there are only 3 things other than the beam you have to worry about. Medeox will sometimes move positions throughout the fight, so don’t be too close to the beam when he moves, or you could slip up and die in the middle of the fight.
There are 8 snakes on top of Medeox, that shoot acid balls at you, and if they touch you, you get poisoned. Bring a few antidotes just incase. These can be killed with either arrows or fire damage to make the fight easier. While killing them, make sure you’re on a platform with a ladder so you can climb the ladder to avoid some shots. MAKE SURE that if you’re going for the Eye For An Eye challenge, you don’t kill any of the snakes!
One of the attacks that Medeox does himself, is that he will float to the top right of the screen. When he moves, make sure to position yourself looking away from him so you don’t die. Proceed to jump onto the first platform with a ladder and move to the left a bit. Medeox will them shoot lasers out of these eyes that will cause the “Burning” status effect on you if it touches you. While Medeox is doing the attack, it is a perfect time to get damage in.
Once you’ve taken out half of Medeoxs’ health bar, he will start to shoot ghosts out of his mouth. These are pretty easy to avoid, as they can’t phase through the platforms. If going for the Eye For An Eye challenge, the ghosts can save you a lot of trouble. Letting them gang up on you may seem like a bad idea, but if you have level 14 armor, they only do 40 damage. After taking damage, you’ll be invincible for a short time if not playing on Hard++, and this can make the acid balls from snakes miss you entirely. Getting hit by the ghosts also doesn’t make you lose the targeting on the eye of the boss. Be careful though, the invincible time window, won’t save you from the beam attack that can instantly kill you.
After the boss is finally dead, pick up the key to the Tower area, and enjoy watching the trophy pop.

Refer to The Graveyard Is Overloaded for an area where you can grind kills
![]() ![]() You killed 10.000 monsters. |
The requirements for this trophy are quite grindy, as you are required to kill 10,000 enemies, all on the same file.
There are plenty of ways to get 10,000 kills, by either wandering from the map to map, killing everything, grinding out the rooms with bats, as there are a lot of enemies in those rooms all the time, or grinding out skeletons in the Tower of Mages. In this area, there are plenty of rooms where mages spawn an infinite amount of skeletons that you can kill over and over and over. Using a mace or the Spirit Of Light pet can help speed up the process.
After the 10,000th enemy is dead, the trophy will finally unlock.

After you have acquired all the items and killed the 5 enemies, return to the NPC where you got the quest and after the dialogue, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You successfully finished the quest of the spirit, and acquired the knowledge of Necromancy. |
The requirements to get this trophy are a bit more elaborate than all the other magic related trophies. To get this trophy, you have to do the side quest “The Necronomicon” and learn the Necromancy magic. For this quest, you need to gather two items, but for one of the items, you need to complete a whole other side quest.
The items you need for this side quest are as follows:
- 1 Necronomicon – This is where the quest gets a little elaborate. To be able to get the Necronomicon, you have to do a whole other side quest called “The Key of the Necromancer” so you can get an item called the “Skull Key”. Coming from the entrance to the catacombs, you have to go two screens down, and one to the left. On this screen, you will find an NPC who gives you the quest. At the end of this room is a door. Inside you will have to collect 11 Black Amulets. There is a lot of enemies that spawn in this area so be prepared. After you have the 11 Amulets, talk to the NPC again to get the skull key. After that, go two rooms to the right of the NPC and you will be in a room with candles and a pentagram in the background. Between the 5th and 6th candle is a hidden door and inside is the Necronomicon. After you acquire it, some enemies will appear in the room to attack you.
- 100 Arcane Essence – This is acquired by killing the normal skeleton enemies of the Catacombs are.
After you have acquired both of the needed items, return to the NPC where you got the quest and after the dialogue, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You successfully finished the quest of the spirit, and acquired the knowledge of Healing. |

The items are as follows:
- 100 Green Essence – This shouldn’t be too hard as most of the enemies in the Gardens area drop this, plus a bunch of chests in the area also contain green essence.
- 1 Mandragora – To be able to get the Mandragora, first, you have to do another step. First, you have to go to the bottom right of the Garden area, and in the bottom right room, you’ll be in a room with wasps and a wasp nest. You have to defeat everything, including the hive to make a ladder appear on the right side of the area to be able to get a “Marble Pot”. Interact with the pot using
to obtain it. After that, you have to make your way to the top left of the Gardens area, and you’ll find be in a room with a door on the far left side of the map. Inside the door will be the Mandragora. Simply pick it up by pressing
.

![]() ![]() You found the God of Light, and acquired the Divine Favour of Light. |
In order to obtain this trophy, you have to find the God of Light and acquire the Favour of Light, which is done in the Catacombs. Unlike all the other spell-based trophy, there is no side quest to do. In the Catacombs, you will find the shop, and the area to the right of the shop is filled with enemies. Now this area can be tricky. The best way to get through this area is to take your time. As you walk through, a bunch of enemies will spawn in, and what you want to do is bait them to ladders. So always run to the ladder you just came from and the mobs will run to them and climb them. When they get to the top of the ladder, you can stun-lock them on the ladder, so they will die before they get off of it. Just take your time while going through. At the end of the area, is a door. Go through the door using , and climb all of the ladders. At the top, you will find an NPC which is just a giant face on a wall. After all the dialogue, you will learn new magic and the trophy will unlock.

This side quest requires you to collect a few items and fighting a mini-boss for one of them. The mini-boss is quite easy though, so there should be no troubles.
The required items are as follows:
- 100 Crystalline Essence – These are found from the enemies in the Halls area and there are chests around the area that contains essence in them.
- 1 Black Key – In the very bottom map of the Halls area, there is a mini-boss called Lepha, who is a giant crab. This boss is quite easy if you have a high armor level and are wearing a high-level armor set. This boss damages you by either running into you or snapping its claws at you. It could also shoot a beam at you that will cause Slow. It will also summon a bunch of small crabs that die in one hit. After you kill the boss, a ladder will appear to a chest with the Black Key in it.
- 8 Pieces of Shield – To be able to get these items, you will first need the Black Key. There are 8 black chests scattered around the Halls area that you must find and open. Each one contains 1 Piece of Shield.

![]() ![]() You successfully finished the quest of the spirit, and acquired the knowledge of Alteration. |
This trophy requires you to complete the “The Philosophers Stone” side quest, which is found in the Laboratory area, and learn about Alteration magic. The location of the NPC for this quest is at the top left of the Laboratory area, and the quest just tasks you to acquire 4 sets of items. By now, you should know that one set of items is a magic essence. The other items are gathered from certain areas.
The items needed are as follows:
- 100 Yellow Essence – This is found from enemies around the Laboratory area and from chests in the area.
- Great Pyrite Stone – This is found in the Mines area. If you use the warp gate to the bottom of the area, you just have to go a screen to the left. The item is found in the top left corner of the map. There will be a pile of boulders and you’ll have to interact with it using
and then the Pyrite Stone will drop.
- Brimstone – This is found in the Volcano. The volcano is accessed by going through the portal this is found in the Sewers area, and also where you fought the second boss, Drakonius. In this area, there are enemies that are walking flame monsters, and killing them makes the Brimstone drop.
- Mercury – Starting from the Laboratory warp gate, you have to travel one screen up. In the top right of this area, there is a table that you can interact with using
. Once you interact with the correct part of the table, the Mercury will drop and you will have obtained the item.
After you have acquired all of the required items, return to the NPC where you got the quest and after the dialogue, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You successfully finished the quest of the spirit, and acquired the knowledge of Mental Power. |
For you to get this trophy, you have to complete the side quest “Writing Magic”, and learn the ability to use mind magic. This quest can be started at the NPC in the top right of the Library area. For this quest, you just have to acquire a handful of items to complete it. Two sets of items are found normally while exploring, and two others are found from enemies.
The items needed are as follows:
- 100 Golden Essence – Dropped by enemies in the Library area. There are also a handful of chests in the area that contain Golden Essence.
- 200 Blank Pieces of Paper – These can be found in bookshelves. There are more than enough in the Library area to get enough. There are also bookshelves in every area. When you look at a bookshelf, you’ll notice there is paper in it. If you stand in front of the paper and interact with it by pressing
, a piece of blank paper will fall on the floor. Usually, a piece contains many stacks of paper, so you don’t have to find that many bookshelves.
- 1 Black Feather – This item is collected off of crows. Simply go to a room with crows and kill them until the item appears.
- 1 Black Ink – This is found off of octopus enemies in the sewers, but I also found it from the tentacles that stick out of the water areas in the sewers as well. Kill a variety of the two sets of enemies until the Black Ink drops.
After you have acquired all of the required items, return to the NPC where you got the quest and after the dialogue, the trophy will unlock.
![]() ![]() You reached level 5. |
In order to obtain this trophy, you have to reach level 5. Experience Points are acquired from killing enemies and doing side quests throughout the game. This trophy will easily come naturally as you will have to surpass level 5 to be able to complete the game.
![]() ![]() You reached level 10. |
This trophy tasks you with reaching level 10. As with the previous level trophy, experience points are gained from doing just about everything in the game. There is no reason why this shouldn’t come naturally unless you somehow dodge every enemy in the game, but that would make it very difficult in the long run.
