Introduction:

Welcome to Story Of A Gladiator Trophy Guide! A man in search of his destiny; the arena to earn coin and fame. Fight against waves of ruthless gladiators until you are strong enough to enter the colosseum and become the best gladiator of all time; Remember to die with honor. *game is provided by the developer/publisher of the game*.

Roadmap:

In order to easily achieve all the trophies of this game you can play on the easiest difficulty of the game. At the beginning of your playthrough, you have to choose one of the 3 difficulties:

  • Scared (Easy Mode): if you choose this difficulty, you will have double health points and +50% of inflicted damage (Recommended difficulty if you are just going for the platinum);
  • Gladiator (Normal Mode): this difficulty has no buffs or debuffs, so you will play the game as it should be;
  • Lion (Hard Mode): if you choose this difficulty, you will have limited lives and no replays.

After you have chosen the difficulty, you have to select where your gladiator comes from (you can select Greece,Carthage or Egypt based on your play-style):

  • Greece: you will deal 8% bonus damage. You can select it if you want to kill enemies faster, but you need to pay more attention on the attacks you recieve;
  • Carthage: you will have 5% bonus health; You can select it if you want to be a little bit more tanky, but you need to do more attacks to kill enemies so you have to be more patient;
  • Egypt: you will have 1 extra skill point.

After setting up everything you are ready to begin your real journey.

Step 1: Play Through the 3 Main Campaigns
During this step, your main focus will be to complete every level of the 3 Main Campaigns of the game without caring too much about the rating of each level. While completing them, don’t forget to upgrade your gladiator with the best armours, weapons and shields you can afford and to equip new skills when you level up (try different builds with skills but the indispensable ones are: Block, Jump Attack and Dodge Roll).
The best amulet you can wear during this step is the Amulet of Skills as it grants you more skill points and then more skills. ALWAYS remember to buy bendages and food from the butcher and from the General Store when you unlock them as they give helpful buffs.

You’ll be earning these trophies:

Gold Triumph In Rome

Remember to use all the Greater Bendages you have BEFORE completing a level as the 3 Stars rating is given if you have more than 60% of your life.

During this step you’ll earn this trophy:

Gold Super Stars

Step 3: Clean-up And Miscellaneous Trophies

Game Mechanics

Arena

This game is a beat ’em up game where you face up waves of gladiators inside the arena. Each level has a 3 stars rating and to earn the maximum rate you need to complete it with more than 60% of your total health.
The more levels you complete, the harder the game becomes, but you will also unlock better equipment and things which will ease a lot your way to the glory.
Your gladiator has health (Red bar on the top left of the screen) and energy (Yellow bar below health bar)  which you can raise with better gear purchasable from the Blacksmith. If you run out of health you will die and you will need to retry the level; If you run out of energy, you will become exausthed and get stunned for 2 seconds making you vulnerable to attacks.

If you kill 3 enemies in a row, you will gain a 40% bonus damage on the next attack; you can know how many kills in a row you have done by looking over the head of your gladiator (there will be little yellow swords; 1 sword means 1 kill etc until 3 Swords).

While fighting in the arena, you will raise up the crowd favour (Yellow bar on the bottom left of the screen) which will allow you to invoke the power of the Gods by pressing after it reaches the 30%. To raise it, you need to do kills in a row and use skills to do killng blows (Decapitation Skill is the best one); if you raise it, the crowd will throw food, gold and rocks in the arena:

  • Food restores your health;
  • Gold is needed to buy everything in the game;
  • Rocks will hit a random enemy and stun him for 1/2 seconds.
Temple and Gods

When you unlock the temple (after completing Level 4 in the Greek Campaign), you can only choose a God but you will unlock other 2 of them while progressing through the game. Gods will give you momentary buffs which can be temporary upgraded by offering the 5% of your coins inside the temple by pressing . You can activate their powers by pressing inside the arena when the crowd favour reaches the 30%. Remember that the more energized the crowd is, the longer the Gods will help you.
You can choose between 3 Gods:

  • Jupiter: stuns all enemies; upon offering, deals 7% of maximum health as damage. It lasts up to 6 seconds ;
  • Juno: gives you fast movent, attack and block piercing; upon offering, makes you invulnerable. It lasts up to 8 seconds;
  • Mars: turns all enemies against each others; upon offering, gladiators gain double damage. It lasts up to 5 seconds.
Wild Animals

  • Lion: attacks anyone you hit with your sword and deals 30/44 damages;
  • Tiger: attacks anyone who dealt damage to you. It deals 40/70 damages;
  • Panther: attacks enemy gladiators within a short range around you (30/40 damages).

You can also buff them momentarily by feeding them with:

  • Replay some easy battles to get some gold and experience if you need to;
  • If the enemies are walking toward you, they will probably attack you;
  • Get the Roll Dodge and the Jump Attack Skills as soon as possible;
  • Block Skill (Level 2) can help a lot in some battles;
  • Change your Skill build if you are having trouble. The best one is Dodge Roll, Backstab Strike (Level 3), Jump Attack (Level 3) and Critical Strike (Level 3);
  • Immediately buy a pet when you can (After reaching Carthage Campaign) as it will help you a lot;
  • When farming for gold to buy everything, remember to equip the Amulet of Jupiter as it gives +4% more gold in the arena per level (+32% at Amulet Level 8). While levelling your gladiator, keep the Amulet of Skills equipped as it gives you +1 Skill Point each level (+3 Skill Points at Amulet Level 3);
  • When aiming the three stars rating, ALWAYS buy Greater Bandages from the General Store and use them all BEFORE ending the level you are going to do as they restore health and the rating is given by the percentage of your total health.

Guides:

Champion Of The Arena
Fulfill your destiny.
Triumph In RomeGold
Defeat the champion of Rome.

The Champion of Rome is the last and hardest boss of the game. He has a long trident as weapon and a big shield which gives him a huge defence too. His attacks can stun you and then deal a lot of damage. He can also kick you on the ground;
The easiest way to kill him is to equip the following skills and keep rolling behind him and then attack him:

  • Dodge Roll;
  • Jump Attack (Level 3);
  • Backstab Strike (Level 3);
  • Critical Strike (Level 3);
  • Unbreakable (Level 3).

After 3-4 hits a lot of gladiators will join the fight; there will be enemies with horns which boost attack and defence of every ally so watch out ad kill them quickly. There will be also friendly gladiators which will help you by getting targetted by the enemies: this can be a good chance to deal huge damage to the boss too as he can be distracted by friendly glatiators too.
Try to calculate each attack and dodge too and don’t be hasty as you will die in no time. When you managed to beat the boss, you will be awarded with the title of greatest gladiators of all time and this trophy.

Super StarsGold
Collect 90 stars

There are 108 stars in total in the game and you can get a maximum of 3 stars each level. In order to unlock this trophy, you just need to collect 90 stars.

  • 2 Stars: health bar between 40% and 60%; you earn +10% gold too;
  • 1 Star: health bar below 40%.

You can start to worry about stars since the beginning of the game, but the easiest way to collect them is at the end of the game as a clean-up. because you will have a better equipment. To ease at the most the process, ALWAYS buy the Roast Chicken which gives Damage +18% and Health +10% since the beginning of a battle and the Greater Bandages (heals 12% of your health) from the General Store and use them BEFORE killing your last gladiator in order to finish the level with an higher percentage of life.
