Introduction:
Welcome to the Speed Limit Trophy Guide!
Speed limit is a fast paced genre-warping arcade experience, consisting of 11 crazy fun levels, it’s a retro action packed extravaganza! Enjoy the awesome journey through the history of the golden arcade era that this game takes you on, reminisce of the old games we used to love while it takes you on a wild rollercoaster ride from one classic awesome genre to the next.
Trophy wise, it is a fun challenge level. It didn’t make me lose my mind, and it wasn’t too easy, it was just right! I would say nothing is too daunting but that is mainly because for trophies you have to play through the game 5 times so that gives you plenty of practice to be able to tackle the slightly more difficult trophies after!
I have given this plat time estimate because for first time players each of the 5 runs will take you about 30+ mins each, and add 30 mins or more to mop up the last miscellaneous trophies, depending on how much luck or skill you have with success for them.
Roadmap:
Step 1: Complete the game on Easy Mode.
You have to complete the game on easy just to get the one trophy for completing easy mode. Just see it as a practice run to see what to expect from the levels.
(You can go for some of the miscellaneous trophies now if you like, but I would recommend waiting and getting most of them later when you’ve had some more practice with the game.)

Step 2: Complete the game on Normal Mode.
Normal mode will be slightly more difficult, with more enemies etc. But there are still plenty of checkpoints and it doesn’t matter how many times you die so you’ll be fine. Complete normal mode to grab all the normal mode level trophies.
(You can try to go fast and try to get the speedrun trophy for completing normal mode in under 30 minutes now at the same time if you like, but don’t worry we will grab this later for step 4 when it’s easier when we know the game better.)
During this step you’ll earn these trophies:

Step 3: Complete 2 full laps in Infinite Mode.
When you have completed normal mode, it will unlock infinite mode. Enter infinite mode and in one sitting complete 2 full laps of the game in this mode which is needed for one trophy. (You can press pause that’s fine, but don’t exit the game or you’ll have to start again from the beginning.)

Step 4: Complete the 30 minute speedrun in normal mode!
Now that you have done 4 full playthroughs of the game I think you are experienced enough and prepared enough to tackle the speedrun! It won’t work in easy mode, it has to be done in normal mode. 30 minutes is fairly generous, as even with plenty of deaths I got to level 10 in 18 minutes. Beware the Boss on normal is a bit evil though! So maybe have a couple of extra little practice’s on the boss level first before starting a speedrun attempt.
(If you are still struggling, finish off all the miscellaneous trophies first, many of them require you to perfect a level, so it will help to give you even more practice. Then come back to this speedrun last.)

Step 5: Finish off the miscellaneous trophies.
You may have got some of these naturally during your other playthroughs, so now just finish off whichever ones you have left to get your platinum! Some of them are quite tricky requiring decent skill to achieve, but that is why I have left this step till last as you have had plenty of practice with the game by now and will be pretty much a pro!

Level 9 – Vertigo.
A fighter plane level.
May seem a little tricky but it’s pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Continuously drop flares with to blind other planes, and destroy planes infront of you with .
When you see an enemy plane behind you, move to the side so not directly in front of it, then pull back on the thumbstick which will drop you back behind the enemy plane. Now that it is infront of you fire away to destroy it.
Complete this level in normal mode to get this trophy.

Level 10 – End of the Line.
A fighter plane BOSS level.
Dodge and then fire at the weapons of the boss plane to destroy it. It can be a bit tricky but you’ll get there with some practice!
Complete this boss level in normal mode to get this trophy.

In any level press pause. The pause menu will play this elevator music. Pop the controller down n go n make yourself a cup of tea or something to pass the time and in 10 minutes this trophy will unlock.

In level 1 – Run!

You can get this trophy on EASY mode.
I do recommend you do this one in easy mode, as it will be considerably easier with less enemies.
Instead of wildly firing everywhere, just do the odd calculated shot when you need to. You don’t have to kill ALL enemies, you just have to land a hit on the one’s you do go for.

In level 1 – Run!
Kill 100 conga line guys without dying.
You can get this trophy on EASY mode.
At the start of level 1 on the left hand side is a bunch of cops always edging towards you firing and throwing grenades at you, they are the conga line. It would be very hard to do this without a strategy. I recommend this method that worked for me:
Near the end of level 1, DON’T go up the mountain of suitcases that lead to the next level, instead stay in this last carriage of level 1.
If you don’t go near the suitcases the conga line will not come through this last door, they will just stay still. (Or if you die here they will respawn in the right place.)
Also the door to this carriage automatically closes so it protects you from the grenades they throw so you are safe in this last carriage.
Wait for them to throw their 2 grenades, then run through the door into their carriage and kill 2 of their guys, then run back to safety the other side of the door back into the last carriage. Rinse repeat, wait for them to throw 2 grenades again, then run into their carriage and kill 2 of their guys again, run back to safety, keep repeating this making sure not to die and when you have killed 100 the trophy will unlock.
I found this to be the safest most consistent method.

In level 1 – Run!
Die in front of Jim.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
In level 1 you will see some characters sat down reading newspapers (that will get up and try to stab you!), they all seem to be Jim!
You most likely will get this trophy accidentally automatically like I did, but just die when they are near and this trophy will unlock. If it doesn’t unlock just replay the level and try again.

In level 1 – Run!
Don’t kill the bazooka guy.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
At the end of level 1 will be a dead end by a mountain of suitcases, and a guy with a bazooka will come along, this bazooka guy is Chuck. (Normally we kill him which makes the bazooka blow a hole in the roof so we can progress to the next level, but we don’t want to do that this time).
Just stand on the suitcases in his line of fire and let his bazooka shot kill you and this trophy will unlock.

In level 6 – Full Throttle.
Shoot your future self on the bike.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
Immediately at the very start of the level you will see a motorbike go across the screen right to left, this is your future self.
It can be a bit tricky and seem to miss him a few times but just keep continuously shooting and keep replaying the level if you have to until you eventually land a shot shooting him off the bike unlocking the trophy.

In level 6 – Full Throttle.
Shoot your past self on the bike.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
Later on in the level, at the crossing just before the helicopter arrives shooting at you, you’ll see a motorbike go across the screen left to right, this is your past self.
Again it can be kinda tricky to land a shot, but just keep continuously firing and retrying and eventually you’ll get him unlocking this trophy.

Level 5 Tunnel Vision AND level 6 Full Throttle.
Never stop accelerating while on the bike.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
I recommend switching sticks via options and controls, so with one hand you can constantly stay up on accelerate, and use the other thumbstick to turn left and right, so you don’t accidentally slip off accelerate while your turning etc.
Do both these levels in one go while constantly accelerating, it doesn’t matter how many times you crash and die, just never take your hand off of accelerate, even when you die and during load screens stay on accelerate, and this trophy will unlock when you have got to the end of the 2 bike levels.

In level 6 – Full Throttle.
Drown in water.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
Later in the level when you reach the section with the helicopter shooting at you, on the left hand side the other side of the road railing is all water. You may get this trophy accidentally automatically like I did! But if not just on the left hand side crash throwing you over the road barrier and into the water, unlocking this trophy. Or try launching yourself off the left hand ramp straight into the water that way.

In level 6 – Full Throttle.
Fail to enter the choppa at the end.
You have to get this trophy in NORMAL mode.
This wouldn’t work in easy mode for some reason, so you have to get this one in normal mode.
Near the end of the level when you reach the section with the helicopter shooting at you, simply DON’T GO OVER ANY OF THE RAMPS. When you have missed all of the ramps this trophy will unlock.

Level 7 Turn the Tide AND level 8 Aviary.
Take no damage while in the choppa.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
I do recommend you do this one in easy mode, as it will be considerably easier with less enemies.
This can be a little tricky, and may take you a few practice runs to learn the patterns.
You need to complete both level 7 & level 8 in one go without dying or taking any damage at all, so if you think you have completed it but didn’t get the trophy, it just means one of the little boats shots has clipped you making you smoke and doing a little damage. Try again to get a perfect run, destroying or staying well away from all enemies, and at the end of the 2 helicopter levels this trophy will unlock.

Level 7 Turn the Tide AND level 8 Aviary.
Fire exactly one missile from the choppa.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
The ONE missile you can use is the one you have to use to enter the fighter plane at the end that will take you into the next level. So NEVER press the missile button throughout the entirety of level 7 & level 8 to get this trophy.
It doesn’t matter how many times you die, just never fire any missiles. Until the one you have to use at the end.

In level 9 – Vertigo.
Kill 5 enemy planes.
You can get this trophy in EASY MODE.
You will automatically get this trophy when you complete the level, as there is quite a lot of enemy planes to destroy. Just keep destroying any enemy planes that you see to easily get this trophy.

In level 10 – End of the Line BOSS FIGHT.
Destroy the boss by only moving left.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
I highly recommend you do this in easy mode, as it will be quite tricky. However it might be slightly glitched in a good way as I got this trophy accidentally when I wasn’t even going for it and I’m sure I was going left and right!
Learn the boss attack patterns, then take out the boss’s weapons while continuously looping round to the left to get this trophy.

In level 10 – End of the Line BOSS FIGHT.
Destroy the boss’s paint job.
You can get this trophy in EASY mode.
The boss plane has a few extra pieces on the wings that you can destroy that aren’t needed to destroy the boss, but are needed for this trophy. Destroy the 4 extra parts of the wings and just keep spraying bullets all over the boss chipping away lots of the paint work until this trophy unlocks.

In level 11 – Terminal Velocity.
Survive 5 impacts with plane debris.
Normal mode only.
You may accidentally automatically get this trophy like I did!
During this freefall level lots of bits of debris will be around, the larger pieces of debris will have trails of smoke coming off of them. Clip the edges of any pieces of debris, but mainly try to hit the smaller pieces as that is safer, or slow down by pressing up on the thumbstick and try to go into the sides of them, and when you have clipped 5 this trophy will unlock.
If you hit a large piece of debris straight on in the middle then you will die. But if you clip the edge then you will survive.

In level 11 – Terminal Velocity.

You can slow down by pressing up on the thumbstick which will make it easier.
First on the left hand will be the big plane wing, fall through the hole in the middle of this wing.
Next a big plane wing will be on the right hand side, fall through the hole in the middle of this wing, to unlock this trophy.

I highly recommend going for this trophy after you have completed a few of the other runs for trophies, so you have more experience and practice which will prepare you better to be able to beat this speedrun.
