Introduction:

Welcome to the Resident Evil 2 Trophy Guide! Behold! Here we have Capcom’s resurrection of an absolute classic in the Franchise! Play as Leon or Claire in this masterpiece, and save Raccoon City!

Roadmap:

Step 1: Leon Scenario A / Collectibles / Combat Related Trophies / Assisted

In this stage you will be playing as Leon on assisted difficulty while going for all of the combat related trophies, as well as all of the collectible and the boss related trophies.

The 3 things to pay attention to closely while playing your first playthrough (aside from the collectibles) would be:

  • Make a save after escaping the Police Station during the Ada Segment. Complete this segment without using your pistol, and you will get both Bronze Hack Complete and Bronze One Slick Super-spy. If you manage to mess up, you can simply quit to the main menu and reload your autosave/manual save.
  • During the second encounter with G, be sure to only use the crane once to defeat him. Doing so will get you the Silver Gotcha! trophy.
  • During the escape scene after leaving the Laboratory, be sure to complete the boss fight with over 5 Minutes to spare. Doing so will get you the Bronze In the Blink of an Eye trophy. If you mess up, simply quit to the main menu and reload your save.

You’ll be earning these trophies:

Bronze Welcome to the City of the Dead, Bronze Path to the Goddess,
Bronze Never-Ending Rain, Bronze Hack Complete,
Bronze A Great Need for a Shower, Silver A Hero Emerges,
Bronze The Basics of Survival, Bronze Hip to Add Squares,
Bronze Customizer, Bronze Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Gun,
Bronze Eat This!, Bronze That’ll Hold ‘Em,
Bronze Vermin Extermination, Bronze A Vault-like Mind,
Bronze First Break-In, Bronze Bon Appétit,
Bronze Zombie Roundup, Bronze Like Skeet Shooting,
Bronze Keep Their Heads Ringin’, Bronze Hats Off!,
Silver Gotcha!, Bronze Treasure Hunter,
Bronze A Waist of Space, Bronze One Slick Super-spy,
Bronze In the Blink of an Eye, Silver Master of Unlocking,

Step 2: Stage 2: Claire Scenario A / Collectibles / Standard / S Rank / A Small Carbon Footprint

During this stage you will be playing as Claire on Standard difficulty while getting her two missable trophies, as well as her collectibles, getting an S rank, and taking less than 14,000 steps. This might sound like a lot for the next stage, but she only has very minimal collectibles left if you collected them in stage 1, and if following the guide on Gold Sizzling Scarlett Hero it will be a breeze. You can get all the remaining collectibles needed, and still get an S rank with over an hour to spare. As long as you beat the game in under 3:30, you will achieve an S rank.

The two missable trophies to pay attention to during this playthrough are:

  • After leaving the Police Station, and taking control of Sherry, be sure to escape the bedroom in under 60 seconds. If you fail to do so, you can simply quit to the main menu and continue game from there to try again, or simply reload your autosave from the options menu. Doing this will net you Bronze Young Escapee.
  • During the last portion of the game as you are running to the final boss, you must defeat the boss with over 4 minutes left on the clock. You have plenty of time to do so, and even get a minigun for this fight. If you fail, just quit to the main menu and continue game to try again. Doing so will get you the Bronze With Time to Spare trophy.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:

Bronze Hide and Seek
Silver A Heroine Emerges
Bronze Young Escapee
Bronze With Time to Spare
Gold Sizzling Scarlet Hero
Silver A Small Carbon Footprint

Step 3: Leon Scenario B / S Rank / Collectibles / Standard

During this stage your goal is to simply beat the B scenario with Leon on standard difficulty while getting an S rank, and the remaining collectibles. You have 3 hours to complete this scenario on Standard, which is more than enough time, even when getting the few collectibles needed on this run. After doing this, you will also unlock the Silver Broken Umbrella trophy.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Silver Broken Umbrella
Silver Complete Vermin Extermination
Gold Leon “S.” Kennedy

Step 4: Claire Scenario B / Assisted / Minimalist / Frugalsit / Collectibles

During this stage you will be playing Claire’s B scenario on assisted difficulty without using the Item Box, or using any healing items, and getting the last of the collectibles. Doing both Minimalist and Frugalist on this playthrough will eliminate a stage/playthrough. If you really want to have to play the game again, you can use the item box during this run and use your unlimited ammo pistol you got for getting an S rank on standard difficulty – that way you can just focus on Frugalist and then doing a separate run to focus on not using the item box. You will also have the rest of the collectibles during this stage.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Bronze Lore Explorer
Silver Frugalist
Silver Minimalist

Step 5: Leon / Hardcore

This stage will be devoted to beating Leon’s campaign on hardcore difficulty. You can play scenario A or B as it does not matter, so play the one you are most comfortable with. You can view Gold Hardcore Rookie for tips on completing this mode.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Gold Hardcore Rookie

Step 6: Claire / Hardcore

This stage will be devoted to beating Claire’s campaign on hardcore difficulty. You can play scenario A or B as it does not matter, so play the one you are most comfortable with. You can view Gold Hardcore College Student for tips on completing this mode.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Gold Hardcore College Student

Step 7: The 4th Survivor / Platinum

And finally, The 4th Survivor mode. This mode is available from the start at the main menu, and requires you to make your way through the sewers as Hunk, all the way back to the police station. You can view Bronze Grim Reaper for tips on completing this mode.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Bronze Grim Reaper
40-platinum Raccoon City Native

Tips and Strategies:

  • There are collectibles needed on all 4 Scenarios in order to get the trophies. It does not matter what order you play the scenarios in, but it’s strongly suggested that you follow the way written in this guide.
  • You get an Unlimited Ammo Samurai Edge pistol for getting an S rank on standard difficulty. You can use this pistol on any mode/difficulty so it is best to get this as soon as possible.
  • You only need to get S rank on standard difficulty for the platinum, and it does not matter if you do the A or B scenarios. As long as you do one scenario for both characters, you are fine.
  • Pay close attention to the guide, as there is a point of no return after leaving the sewers, as well as missable trophies for both Leon and Claire that are character specific.
  • You only need to collect the files/Inventory bags once. You do not need to collect them all over again in the other playthroughs, just the ones the files/raccoons that you couldn’t before, because they are character/scenario specific.
  • If you are going for any of the trophies that require you to be speedy, including the S rank trophies, then quit to the main menu instead of continuing your game when you die. You can then continue from the main menu and not add on any extra time.
  • While going for S rank, you can pause your game and not add on any extra time. Just make sure you pause it using the start button. Being in your mini-map will add on to your time.
  • You can stagger enemies by shooting them in the head and running past them. There is no need to waste any extra ammo trying to kill them all, unless you are going for specific trophies.
  • All of the scenarios are very similar, with just minor tweaks to some of the puzzles. The biggest difference is Leon has the Ada segment, and Claire has the Sherry segment.
  • As any game, you can take it on however you’d like to. This guide is based off how I’ve completed the game, and feel this is the fastest way of doing so.

Trophy Guide:

Raccoon City Native
Obtain all trophies.

You will unlock this after unlocking all the other main game trophies.

Welcome to the City of the Dead
Make it to the police station.
This will be the first trophy you unlock in the game. This trophy can be earned with either Leon or Claire as it does not matter who you choose. After you leave the Gas Station area at the beginning of the game, you will walk the infected streets of Raccoon City. Shortly after, you will come to the police station. Enter the front gates, followed by the front entrance to the station, and this trophy will pop shortly after.
Path to the Goddess
Solve the Goddess Statue puzzle.

This trophy is unmissable and can be unlocked with either Claire or Leon. Upon entering the Police Station, you will see a statue towards the back of the room. You will notice that there are three empty slots for you to fill with medallions scattered across the station. Each one will get you closer to opening up the next area, and getting this trophy. There are three other statues, each having their own little puzzle you will need to solve by entering the correct “code” on each statue.

The solutions for each are:

  • Scenario A
    • Lion Statue – Lion, Twig, Eagle.
    • Unicorn Statue – Fish, Scorpion, Aquarius.
    • Maiden Statue – Woman, Bow, Snake.
  • Scenario B
    • Lion Statue – Crown, Flame, Bird.
    • Unicorn Statue – Twins, Scale, Worm.
    • Maiden Statue – Ram, Harp, Bird.

Once all three pieces have been added to the Goddess statue, it will reveal a door to the secret room. The trophy will pop shortly after solving this puzzle. Keep in mind, you can put in the medallions as you get them if you want. There is no need to hang on to all three before putting them into the statue, and taking up unnecessary inventory space.

Never-Ending Rain
Escape the police station.

This trophy is unmissable and can be unlocked with either Leon or Claire. The majority of the game is spent in the police station, and this trophy is unlocked after entering the key card into the parking garage gate.

If you are playing as Leon, this trophy will unlock shortly before playing the Ada Scenario, and if you are playing as Claire it will unlock shortly before the Sherry Scenario. You will get the keycard for the garage by solving a small electric wire puzzle with pieces you get from the two portable safes in the game. The puzzle will be in the jail area if you are playing as Leon, or Chief Iron’s office if playing as Claire. Simply take the keycard to the parking garage, use it in front of the parking garage gate, and this trophy will pop shortly after.

Hack Complete
Complete Ada’s segment.

This trophy can only be earned while playing as Leon. With that being said, this trophy is still unmissable while playing as Leon. After escaping the police station, you will make your way to the Sewers with Ada. Before making it there, you will have to complete a short scenario with Ada.

It’s suggested to make a save just before this scenario, so you can combine it with Bronze One Slick Super-Spy which consists of completing the segment using only her EMF hacking device. The scenario should only take you 5 – 6 minutes, and is pretty straight-forward. At the end of the segment you have 1 minute to escape a chamber before you catch fire. Use your EMF device to hack your way through, and exit through the door to your right. As soon as you enter that door, take your first left and follow the path. Soon after you will have two cutscenes to watch/skip, and the trophy will pop right after you gain back control of Leon.

Hide and Seek
Complete Sherry’s segment.

This trophy can only be earned while playing as Claire. This trophy is story related in Claire’s playthrough, and can be unlocked alongside getting the Bronze Young Escapee trophy if you manage to do it in under 60 seconds.

This segment will start shortly after picking up the key card to the parking garage gate with Claire. You will take control of Sherry, and the goal here is to escape the orphanage. Simply examine the toy to the left to get the piece needed to complete the puzzle in this room. After you complete the puzzle, you will be awarded with scissors which you can use to escape the room.

Run into the next area down the hallway and grab the key, which will trigger a cutscene. The goal now is to escape while avoiding Chief Irons. You can avoid him by hiding behind furniture until you can make a run into the next area. Simply hide under the table until a cutscene triggers.

After the cutscene, grab the key and run to the second room you encountered with the corpse. Once here the segment will end, followed by this trophy after regaining control of Claire.

A Great Need for a Shower
Escape from the sewers.

This trophy Is unmissable and can be earned as part of the story while playing as either Leon or Claire. Keep in mind that after leaving the sewers you can no longer return to the sewers/police station, so make sure you have everything you want/need before finishing this section of the game.

To escape the sewers, you must solve the “Chess Piece Puzzle” to get the power turned on. You will then make your way down to the door where you will face the Stage 2 G (Silver Gotcha! is earned here).

Once the G has been defeated you will then go and regroup with Ada/Sherry and make your way to the cable car. Once inside, activate the cable car and you will be on your way to the last section of the game – the Laboratory. Once there, you have officially escaped the sewers, and this trophy will follow.

A Hero Emerges upscale-245262160018212
Complete Leon’s story.

This trophy is earned after completing the campaign as Leon. The campaign is completed after you have slayed the Super Tyrant.

The Silver In the Blink of an Eye trophy can also be earned here. Once he is defeated, you can hop off of the platform and exit the room after dealing with the couple of infected bunched up in front of the exit. Once done, a cutscene will trigger followed by this trophy, and you have officially beaten the campaign as Leon. After the credits roll, the game will inform you that you have unlocked Scenario B with Leon, and now have the option to play it from the Main Menu.

A Heroine Emerges upscale-245262160018212
Complete Claire’s story.

This trophy is earned after completing the campaign with Claire. The campaign is completed after you defeat the Stage 4 G. This is where the trophy Bronze With Time to Spare can also be earned. After defeating the boss, simply continue on to finish the campaign. After completing the campaign with Claire, you will unlock this trophy, and be able to play Scenario B with her.

Broken Umbrella upscale-245262160018212
Witness the true ending.

This trophy is earned after completing a “2nd run” aka scenario B with either Leon or Claire. In order to unlock scenario B you must first complete scenario A with either Leon or Claire. You unlock scenario B for Claire by completing scenario A with Leon, and you unlock scenario B for Leon, by completing scenario A with Claire.

Upon completion of Scenario A with either of the two characters, you will notice a “2nd run” tab on the main menu. This is where you have the option to play the new scenario.

The B scenarios are shorter in time compared to the A scenarios, and there are minor changes to some of the story as well as the puzzles. Simply complete either Leon’s or Claire’s scenario B playthrough, and this trophy will come shortly after.

The Basics of Survival
Combine two items together.

Although this trophy will likely come naturally, it is still considered missable. There are three different herbs in the game. The herbs come in green, blue, and red. They each do different things such as give a small portion of health or cure you from poison, however they can be combined to benefit you even more. Once you have two herbs in your inventory, simply open it up and then press , combine, and then select the other herb you would like to combine with.

The trophy is a bit misleading as it doesn’t seem to unlock when combining key items needed as part of the story, or gun powder to make ammo. With that being said, and going by the trophy image, it’s safe to assume you must combine a herb with another herb. The trophy will pop shortly after doing just that.

Hip to Add Squares
Increase your inventory slots.

There are a total of 6 inventory upgrades or “hip pouches” in the game. You only need to collect one of them to unlock this trophy. Each hip pouch will increase your allowed inventory by 2 slots. The first Hip Pouch you will come across will be in a safe in the West Office, in the Police Station.

The code to the safe is as follows:

  • Left – 9
  • Right – 15
  • Left – 7

Simply pick up the pouch located inside the safe, and this trophy will pop shortly after. If you would like to watch a full video guide for all the collectibles in the game, please refer to Bronze Lore Explorer.

Customizer
Customize a weapon.

This trophy is earned after combining an attachment with any of your weapons on any character. Most weapon attachments are hiding behind locks/safes. Once you find an attachment, simply open up your inventory, select combine, and then combine it with the weapon of choice.

The first weapon attachment you come across, which can be combined with the standard starting pistol, will be located in a desk in the West Office on the 1st Floor of the Police Station. This desk will have two locks on it, that you will have to input a code into to unlock.

The codes are:

  • Left Lock – NED
  • Right Lock – MRG

Open the desk and combine the attachment with your pistol, and the trophy will follow shortly after.

Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Gun
Defeat an enemy with a knife.

This trophy is another easy one you can get out of the way towards the beginning of the game. There are knives scattered around the game that will break after too much use, and are also good to parry the infected’s attacks.

Once you find a knife, you can hold to have it at the ready, and  to swing. Just find an enemy, shoot it once in the head so it is staggering, and then run up to it and finish it off with a few swings from your knife. Once the enemy has been defeated with your knife, the trophy will pop shortly after.

Eat This!
Counterattack with a sub-weapon.

To get this trophy, you must counterattack any enemy with a sub-weapon. In order to do this you must first have one of the three sub-weapons in your inventory.

The only sub-weapons in the game are:

  • Combat Knife
  • Flash Grenade
  • Frag Grenade

Sub-weapons can be found anywhere throughout the game. After you have one of these in your inventory and an enemy grabs you from the front, it will give you the option to press  to counter attack the enemy. If you are using the combat knife, it will stab the enemy in the chest, and then you can finish the enemy off to retrieve your knife. If you counter attack with a grenade, you will shove the grenade into their mouth, and it will soon explode after (If you shoot the grenade while it is in their mouth, you will also get the Bronze Bon Appetit trophy). Simply counterattack any enemy with your sub-weapon, and you will unlock this trophy.

That’ll Hold ‘Em
Use Wooden Boards to board up a window.

To get this trophy, you must board up any window in the game with a wooden board. Wooden boards can be found throughout the game, and can be easily spotted with the yellow tape covering it. Simply pick up the piece of wood and add it to your inventory. Now that you have a wooden board in your inventory, you can go up to any window and it will prompt you to press  to open your inventory and place the board. The point of the board is to prevent enemies from breaking through. After boarding up your first window, you will get this trophy.

Vermin Extermination
Destroy a Mr. Raccoon.

Mr. Raccoon figurines are one of the collectibles in the game. There are a total of 15 of them throughout Racoon City to shoot and collect. They are little bobble head like figurines that let off a distinct quiet sound when nearby, and after you shoot one there will be a bright blue substance followed by an autosave in the top-left of your screen. The first one you come across will be in the West Office of the Police Station. You will see it on a shelf on the north side of the room. Simply shoot the raccoon, and you will get this trophy. Collect all 15 Mr. Raccoon figurines to unlock the Silver Complete Vermin Extermination trophy.

If you would like to watch a video on all of the collectible locations in the game, please refer to the Bronze Lore Explorer trophy.

A Vault-like Mind
Open a portable safe.

There are two portable safes in the game. In order to open the safe, you must first examine It in your inventory and then make every light on the safe green by pressing the 8 buttons on the safe. Since the codes are randomly generated for each playthrough, it is impossible to follow a guide to open your safe. You must press the buttons and remember which ones to press in order to make all the lights green. It will take you a few tries of course, but once all lights are green it will open and give you one of two key pad buttons needed to open up safes in the Safety Deposit Room.

There are two safes in the game, and their locations are:

  • Police Station – Shower Room
  • Police Station – Linen Room

You only need to open one of them to unlock this trophy. If you would like to watch a video on all of the collectibles in the game, please refer to the Bronze Lore Explorer trophy.

First Break-In
Open a dial safe.

There are 8 safes and locks throughout Raccoon City, and you will only need to open up one of the dial safes in order to pop this trophy. To open up a dial safe you must first use your joystick to land on the number going lift, then land on it going right, then once more going left. If the code was inputted correctly, the safe will open and unlock this trophy. Keep in mind it has to be a dial safe, and not a letter padlock.

The first dial safe you will encounter in the game will be behind the desk in the west office on the first floor of the police station. The code needed to open this locker is:

  • Left – 9
  • Right – 15
  • Left – 7

After the safe opens, you will unlock this trophy. The trophy Silver Master of Unlocking will unlock after opening all 8 safes and locks in the game. You can refer to that trophy for the rest of the locations.

Bon Appétit
Shoot the grenade you fed to an enemy.

In order to get this trophy, you must first counterattack an enemy with either a flash grenade or frag grenade. To do that, just have one of the grenades in your inventory, and then let an enemy grab you from in front of you. If done correctly it will prompt you to press . Press it, and you will shove your grenade into the enemies mouth. Once done, simply shoot the grenade before it explodes on its own, and it will explode and get you this trophy.

If you do this the first time you counterattack an enemy, you can combine it with the Bronze Eat This! trophy.

Zombie Roundup
Kill 3 enemies at once with a sub-weapon.

To earn this trophy, you must kill 3 enemies at once with a sub-weapon. The only sub-weapon that you can earn this trophy with is a frag grenade. You can find grenades throughout raccoon city just like any item. Once you have one, be sure to save it when you see a bunch of enemies rounded up. There are multiple opportunities to get this trophy throughout the game, so don’t stress over trying to train 3 enemies together – for example you can get this trophy while playing as Leon. After you pick up the keycard to open the parking garage and escape the prison, all of the cells in the prison will open, and you will have 6-8 enemies in one tight location. Just chuck your grenade into the herd, and if you manage to kill 3 of them, you will unlock this trophy.

As stated there are multiple opportunities to earn this trophy throughout the game, including the start of both B scenarios for Claire and Leon. If an enemy happens to grab you while you have a frag grenade, be sure not to press   to counterattack them, as you will lose your grenade. Just let them bite you and move on until you can attempt the trophy. To throw a grenade, aim with and the press  to throw it.

Like Skeet Shooting
Shoot a zombie dog or a licker out of the air.

In order to get this trophy, you must shoot a licker or a zombie dog out of the air when it takes a leap at you. If you are playing as Claire, you will encounter plenty of lickers in the police station. They are the weird/pink enemies that walk on all fours, climb walls, and you guessed it, have their tongues out to lick/attack you. If you are playing as Leon, you will encounter plenty of zombie dogs to attempt this trophy. It is easier to attempt this with dogs, and the trophy might even pop without you even trying to go for it.

If you are playing as Leon, the first time you encounter a zombie dog will be in the generator room of the police station after you turn on the power. Simply aim your shotgun at a dog and wait for it to take a jump at you before shooting it out of the air. If done correctly, the dog will fall backwards, and you will unlock this trophy. It’s suggested that you do this with dogs as the lickers do way more damage, and it is harder to time their jumps.

If you are struggling to earn this trophy, below is a video showing how to do it.

Keep Their Heads Ringin’
Paralyze a licker’s sense of hearing.

In order to get this trophy, you must first have a flash/stun grenade equipped. You will then need to wait until you come across a licker enemy, which is the pink enemy that walks on all fours, and will walk on the walls/jump at you. To earn this trophy, you need to simply throw your flash grenade at a licker by aiming with and throwing it with . If done correctly, you will paralyze the licker’s sense of hearing and unlock this trophy.

If you have a flash grenade in your inventory, be sure not to counterattack an enemy with it as you will lose it. If an enemy grabs you, just let them bite you and then move on so you can use it for the purpose of this trophy.

Hats Off!
Shoot Tyrant’s hat off his head.

It wouldn’t be Resident Evil without Mr. X, aka Tyrant, chasing you throughout the game. Tyrant will spawn after you cross through the rooftops of the police station and put out the fire with the water. He is a very tall brute-like enemy wearing a long black trench coat and a black top hat. Unfortunately for him, you will have to shoot that hat off and expose his bald head. During your first encounter, just aim your weapon at him and shoot the hat. The hat will fall off, and you will unlock the trophy.

On a side note, you can not kill Tyrant. You can stagger him with enough shots to the head, but it is not worth wasting the ammunition. He will follow you throughout the remainder of the campaign, and will do more damage/walk faster depending on the difficulty you are playing. You know he his nearby by his very loud and distinct footsteps, so be careful entering/exiting rooms when you hear them.

If you forget to shoot the hat off of him when you first encounter him, just stay in one area until he shows up, so you can then shoot the hat off. If needed, below is a video showing the trophy getting earned during the first encounter.

Gotcha! upscale-245262160018212
Defeat Stage 2 G using the crane only once.

This trophy is missable and is earned during your second encounter with the G mini-boss like enemy.

In order to defeat the G during stage 2, you must use the crane to knock him off of the edge. In order for the crane to knock him over, you must first have weakened him enough. After you solve the chess piece puzzle in the monitor room of the sewers, you are able to take on this encounter.

After solving the puzzle, you will soon find yourself trapped in a small room that has caught fire while the G uses his claws to try to attack you from the ceiling above. Just stand near the metal exit to the left of the room by the switchbox as he does not attack there, nor does the fire spread to that area.

Shortly after this, he will rip off that metal shutter and you can simply run right past him. Continue on until you come across a platform with a container on it. Behind the container there will be a button to press enabling you the move the crate out of the way. Now, simply attack the G until you feel like you have damaged him enough. There is no health indicator, so you might find it is best to attack until you hear your character mention “I bet we can use the crane”. Once you hear this, attack the G until he drops to his knees once more. Be sure that you make him drop in the middle of the platform, so the container will knock him off. Once done, go and press the button once more, and the crane will swing the container back onto the platform. Be sure to stay out of the way or it will knock you off as well and kill you. If done correctly, it will knock the G off the ledge, and get you this trophy during the cutscene as long as you only use the crane one time.

It is best to make a save before attempting this trophy, just in case you happen to mess up. If you do mess up, you can simply quit to the main menu and either hit continue game, or load your save before the fight.

If you need more help on this, here is a video showing how to earn this trophy.

Treasure Hunter
Using the photo hints, find 2 hidden items.

In order to get this trophy you must first find a roll of film, then take it to the Dark Room located in the police station. Once in the dark room, you can interact with the tub of water and use your roll of film. It will then give you two photos to look at, which will give you a clue to a hidden item. You must pick up both hidden items shown in the photo hints in order to achieve this trophy.

Each roll of film will show you two different hidden items. For example an item you can find is the roll of film that can be found in the workroom in the lower waterway portion of the sewers. Once you pick up this roll of film, go to the workers break room in the sewers, and you will notice you can push a cabinet towards the back of the wall out of the way.

Follow this path through the elevators and stairs, and it will take you all the way back to the Police Station where you can then access the dark room. It will then how you the two photos of the hidden items. Both hidden items are located in desks. One desk is located in the Press Room, and the other In the S.T.A.R.S office (Both in the Police Station). After you pick up both of these items and add them to your inventory, this trophy will follow.

Below is a video showing the exact same method described above.

A Waist of Space
Expand inventory slots to max.

There are a total of 6 Inventory upgrades that are referred to as “hip pouches”. Each one that you pick up will give you two additional inventory slots. Some of these are out in the open and easily picked up, while others will be behind a locked safe or locker. In order to get this trophy, you must pick up all 6 inventory upgrades in one playthrough. It does not matter if you are playing the A or B scenario for either character, as long as all 6 are picked up in a single playthrough, you will get this trophy.

For a detailed video on where you can find these inventory upgrades, along with the rest of the collectibles in the game, see Bronze Lore Explorer.

One Slick Super-spy
Use only the EMF Visualizer to complete Ada’s gameplay segment.

Not only is this trophy missable, but it can also only be earned while playing as Leon. Shortly after escaping the police station, you will be on your way to the sewers with Ada. Shortly after, you will take control of her for a short scenario that shouldn’t take you more than 5 – 6 minutes to complete. To get this trophy, you must complete this scenario only using her EMF Visualizer hacking device. You use this device by holding  to aim, and  to hack. To be more specific, the trophy simply means complete the segment without using her pistol. Keep in mind, even if you shoot your pistol and miss an enemy, you will void this trophy. You will need to run past all the enemies, and quickly hack your way to the end.

Important Note: There are only three collectibles during this scenario, and each of them are missable. The reason this is brought up in this trophy is because one of them is a raccoon that you need to shoot in order to get. If you shoot it, it will void this trophy. So if you are doing a collectible run while trying to achieve this trophy, there is a save point/typewriter in the same room as the raccoon and the other collectible (The room where you pull the lever up the stairs). Simply save your game at this point, collect your collectibles, then once you take back control of Leon, you can progress to the first save and then quit/load your save back up in the Ada sequence, only this time skipping the collectibles here and finishing without using your pistol to get this trophy. After you get the trophy, you can quit, and load your other save to continue on normally.

If you do this trophy on your first time playing the scenario, it will pop alongside Bronze Hack Complete once you take control back of Leon.

Below is a video guide showing how to earn this trophy.

Young Escapee
Escape the bedroom within 60 seconds during Sherry’s segment.

This trophy is missable and can only be obtained during Clair’s playthrough. After finding the keycard with Claire, you will soon after take control of Sherry for a small segment in the game. To earn this trophy you must escape the first room you are in within 60 second of the segment starting.

Once you have control of Sherry, simply pick up the stuffed animal to the right and examine it. You will get a piece that you need in order to solve a puzzle in the corner of the room. Unfortunately you cannot follow a guide for this trophy, as the moves to solve this puzzle are randomly generated with each playthrough, though the end result will always be the same.

Once you solve the puzzle, it will award you with a pair of scissors that are used on the wall next to you to escape. Once you escape this room the trophy is to unlock. If you do not get the trophy immediately after leaving this room, simply quit to the main menu and then hit continue, or just reload your autosave from the options menu. It will put you at the start of the segment and you can continue to try until you get the trophy. Once you manage to escape the bedroom within 60 seconds, you will unlock this trophy.

Below is a video showing you how to escape the bedroom. Just remember that you cannot copy the moves used on the puzzle.

With Time to Spare
Defeat Stage 4 G with 4+ minutes left until detonation.

This trophy can only be earned while playing as Claire. To get this trophy you must defeat the Stage 4 G with over 4 minutes left on the timer at the top of your screen. The timer will start and you will have to make your way to the final boss and defeat it with the timer being above the 4 minute mark.

Make your way down the lift and follow the path, running past all of the enemies. You will soon come to a joint plug you will need to put into the console nearby. Insert it, pull the lever, and it will trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, you will have a little bit more running to do, and then you will eventually make your way to the Stage 4 G.

You will likely have over 3 minutes or so to defeat the boss, and you can easily defeat him in 1-2. Just equip you mini gun and spray him in all of his weak spots/eyes to quickly defeat him.

If you manage to defeat him with over 4 minutes left on the timer, the trophy will pop as soon as the cutscene triggers.

Below is a video showing how to earn this trophy with plenty of time to spare.

In the Blink of an Eye
Defeat Super Tyrant with 5+ minutes left until detonation.

This trophy is missable, and can only be obtained while playing as Leon. In order to achieve this trophy, you must defeat the Super Tyrant with over 5 minutes left on the self destruct timer at the top of your screen. The Super Tyrant is the last boss in the game during Leon’s playthrough, and is fairly easy to takedown.

After the final portion of the Laboratory you will meet up with Ada and trigger a cutscene. After this, a countdown of 10 minutes will start. This means from this point you must make your way to the final boss, and defeat him before the timer reaches the 5 minute mark. From the start, make your way down the elevator/platform in front of you and just follow the path. Run past all of the enemies, and Mr.X and you will make your way to the last area of the game. To trigger the boss fight, insert the device found on the table into the console in the middle of the platform. The boss fight will start, and you should have about 1-2 minutes to kill the boss.

Simply empty your clips into his head, while dodging his attacks. After doing enough damage, a cutscene will trigger, and a rocket launcher will spawn in the middle of the platform. Quickly pick up the rocket launcher, and shoot the super tyrant one time to end the boss fight. If done with over 5 minutes left, the trophy will pop as soon as the cutscene starts.

Leon “S.” Kennedy Gold
Complete Leon’s story on “Standard” or “Hardcore” with an S rank.

To earn this trophy, you must beat one of Leon’s scenarios with an S rank on standard or hardcore difficulty. Unlike most resident evil games, the only thing that determines your rank is the time it takes you to beat the game. Long story short, this trophy should read “beat the game in under X amount of time”.

Here is the amount of time you have for each of the two scenarios:

  • Scenario A / Standard – 3:30
  • Scenario A / Hardcore – 2:30
  • Scenario B / Standard – 3:00
  • Scenario B / Hardcore – 2:00

As stated, it doesn’t matter which scenario you play, or if you play on standard or hardcore. As long as you reach one of the time requirements above, you will unlock this trophy. For example you can finish Scenario A on standard difficulty with Claire while getting your last few collectibles with a time of about 2:10, which means you can have close to an hour and a half to spare, so don’t stress out if you think you are cutting it close.

Stick to the story path. While attempting this trophy, it’s assumed that you have already beaten the game once, and know what to do and where to go. If you end up dying, do not press continue. Instead, quit back to main menu and hit continue game from there, that way it wont rack up unnecessary time while going for your speed run. Pausing the game with the options button does not rack up time, so you can pause the game at any time to watch a video/take a break and not worry about your time racking up. You can also pause the game at any time, and it will show you how much time you currently have invested in your current run to the top right of the screen.

Although pausing the game does not count your time, being in your inventory or mini map does, as well as cutscenes. You can skip cutscenes by pressing the  button followed by . If you need to open your mini map, don’t keep it up for too long, and any time you need to pause your game, make sure it is paused with the  button (The screen that shows your current time is the screen that should be pulled up).

Don’t worry about your accuracy, taking damage, or anything else. The only factor to worry about is your time! Once the campaign has been completed on Standard or Hardcore difficulty with one of the above times as Leon, you will unlock this trophy.

See Gold Sizzling Scarlet Hero for a speed run by PowerPyx on standard difficulty.

Hardcore Rookie Gold
Complete Leon’s story on “Hardcore” game mode.

In order to get this trophy, you must complete Leon’s campaign on Hardcore difficulty. This is where the difficulty becomes a 6, as you will always be in a critical state after getting hit, and will die after getting a second hit if you have not yet healed yourself. To make matters worse, you can only save your game if you have the Ink Ribbons to do so.

By now, you should have already completed the game 3 – 4 times if following this guide, so you will have a fine understanding on how to beat the game and the most efficient way of doing so.

Below are some tips that should be necessary for completing the game on this mode:

  • Conserve your ammo by taking your time, getting precise shots, and not killing enemies. The enemies are bullet sponges, and you will quickly find yourself struggling for ammo if you kill each enemy. Simply shoot them 1-2 times in the head until they stagger, and run past them.
  • It’s highly suggested that you do not attempt hardcore mode until you have the samurai edge pistol, which is unlocked after getting S rank on standard difficulty. This pistol has unlimited ammo, and will make the mode slightly easier since you won’t be too concerned about losing to many bullets.
  • You have plenty of ink ribbons to save your game, so don’t be afraid to use them after a good run/hard segment of the game. You can easily save your game 10 – 20+ times, so use them smart, and as often as you feel necessary.
  • Go quick, and try to achieve S rank. This is because if you manage to get an S rank your first time around on Hardcore, you get an unlimited ammo SMG which makes the mode even easier. If you don’t end up getting S, that’s fine, you will just have to do another Hardcore run without the weapon.
  • If you are trying to get an S rank, then if you die, quit to the main menu and continue from the title screen, that way your time doesn’t rack up. Remember you can pause your game without accumulating time.
  • Use your recovery items wisely. Don’t use them every time you get hit, because then you will never have any. You can use a good combination of reloading your saves/using your recovery items to get through certain areas. That’s why it’s recommended to save as often as you feel because if you die, you can just reload your save, and try to get to the next area without being hit, so you can use another save, instead of wasting your items.

This game is difficult if you do not at least have the Samurai Edge unlimited ammo pistol. It’s strongly suggested that you get this pistol before attempting this run. This trophy will unlock after you complete the Hardcore campaign with Leon. You can complete either Scenario A or B as it does not matter, as long as it’s Leon’s.

Complete Claire’s story on “Hardcore” game mode.

Complete the game without using a recovery item.

To earn this trophy, you must complete any of the 4 campaigns without using a recovery item. These items consist of the first-aid sprays as well as all of the herbs. This trophy is best attempted on assisted difficulty because your health will regenerate to halfway full, if you don’t take damage for a period of time. This makes this trophy much easier!

You can attempt this trophy with any of the scenarios, with any character, and can easily be combined with Silver A Small Carbon Footprint.

If you are low on health and playing on assisted difficulty, just take some time to regenerate your health before continuing on with the story. This trophy becomes even easier If you have any of the unlimited ammo weapons unlocked. This allows you to spam your weapons while keeping a safe distance from any of the enemies.

Simply complete any of the 4 scenarios without using any recovery items, and this trophy will unlock on the final cutscene.

Minimalist upscale-245262160018212
Clear the game without opening the item box.

This trophy is earned after completing one of the 4 campaigns without using the item box. The item boxed is used to store items from your inventory to create more space for yourself, as well as hold any of the infinite ammo guns you may have already unlocked. To make this easier on yourself, you can play on assisted difficulty while grabbing all 6 inventory upgrades to give you max capacity.

If you have all 6 inventory upgrades, and stick to the story only picking up key items, there should be no reason for you to need to use the item box. If you find yourself with a full inventory, wither use or discard items to make more room. You can attempt this trophy on any difficulty, with any character, on any scenario. As long as you complete one of them without opening the item box, you will unlock this trophy.

If you need help finding the inventory upgrades, please refer to Bronze A Waist of Space.

A Small Carbon Footprint upscale-245262160018212
Take 14000 steps or fewer in one playthrough.

To earn this trophy you must beat one of the 4 campaigns taking less than 14,000 steps. It does not matter which scenario you play, or which character you play with. As long as you complete one of the 4 campaigns taking less than 14,000 steps, you will unlock this trophy.

You can always check to see how many steps you have taken by pausing your game, going to the record section, and going to the task titled “A Small Carbon Footprint”. This will show you how many steps you have taken in your current playthrough. This trophy is not as bad as it seems, as long as you stick to the story, and don’t get sidetracked by the collectibles, or just wandering around. Though the Scenario B playthroughs may be easier to do this in, you can still do it on the A playthroughs. This trophy might even come naturally while attempting your S rank runs.

If for whatever reason you die during your attempt at this trophy, be sure when it asks if you want to continue your game that you quit back to the main menu and then hit continue from there, that way it takes back the steps you spent prior to dying and gives you another go. For reference, I beat Scenario A with Claire in just over 12,000 steps, and Scenario B with both characters in just over 11,000. It does not matter what difficulty this is attempted on! Once you complete one of the campaign in under 14,000 steps, you will unlock this trophy.

Grim Reaper
Complete “The 4th Survivor” extra mode.

To earn this trophy, you must complete “The 4th Survivor” mode which is available from the main menu. This mode can prove to be difficult, and may take you a few tries to get to.

During this Mode you will be in the Sewers playing as Hunk. Your goal is to make your way through the sewers and back to the police station. The mode itself will only take you roughly 10 minutes or so, but items are very scarce and you have to be very smart about where you are using your items, and how you are using your ammo.

On the bright side, there is no boss during this mode, so your main focus will be saving your healing items and your ammo for specific parts in this mode. On the not-so-bright side, Mr. X will be chasing you the entire time, so you have little to no time to take a breather during your run. A few things to recommend while attempting this trophy would be to use your gun powder you find to make shotgun shells only. This ammo will help you the most and allow you to run past some of the more tricky parts. It’s also recommended to use your grenades for the final area, because if a plant grabs you and you cant counter it, you will likely die instantly.

The only other suggestion would be to save your blue herbs for when you are running through the lower sewers. These enemies actually don’t damage you, but instead poison you when grabbed. If you use your blue herb, not only do you get a defense buff, but you are immune to any poison. So when they grab you, it wont affect you one bit.

This might take you a few attempts, but will eventually get through it with the right patience, and use of your items. After you enter the front gates to the police station, this trophy will be earned.

Below is a video showing a running through this mode. It’s suggested that you watch it if you are having trouble getting through this mode.
