Introduction:

Welcome to the Narcos: Rise of the Cartels trophy guide. Will you play as the DEA and stop El Patron once and for all? Or will you play as the Narcos and defend the Cartel with your life? If you want the platinum, you will have to do both!

Roadmap:

Here you will find the roadmap which is designed to help you achieve your platinum trophy in the quickest and easiest way possible. The roadmap consists of two steps.

Step 1: DEA Campaign & Combat Related Trophies

During this step you will be focused on completing all 9 DEA missions while at the same time getting all of the combat related trophies out of the way.

As stated, the campaign consists of 9 Story missions. Before starting each story mission you must do 2-4 side missions to unlock each respective story mission. While playing the missions, it is important to find strategies that work for you to ensure you get better as the game progressively gets harder. Each story mission can be replayed once the DEA campaign has been fully complete.

Most trophies will thankfully come naturally without going out of your way to receive them. The Narcos campaign is unlocked immediately after completing the first DEA story mission, but it is recommended to complete the DEA campaign in full before heading over to the Narcos campaign. Keep in mind that all of the combat related trophies can be earned across both playthroughs. This means you don’t need to do them all in one campaign. This does nothing but makes the chances of you getting most of the trophies naturally even higher.

Upon completing the DEA campaign and returning back to your home base, interact with the Intel Board and you will unlock theGold DEDICATION  trophy. For more tips on the game or trophies, you can view the additional tips section of this guide, or their respective trophies. Upon completing this step, you are ready for step 2 and the Narcos campaign.

During this step you’ll be earning these trophies:

Bronze BREAK THE SEAL
Bronze NO LONGER THE ROOKIE
Silver A NEW PARTNER
Gold DEDICATION
Silver ANTIDOTE
Silver THE RIGHT HAND
Bronze MARKSMAN
Bronze SPRAY N’ PRAY
Bronze THE PRO

Step 2: Narcos Campaign + Campaign + Platinum Achieved

This step is very similar to the first step except now, there is much less for you to worry about while playing through the campaign. Since this is the final step of the roadmap, that means this is where you will be earning your platinum trophy. Congratulations for making it to the final stretch.

If you were following the guide then the only thing left for you to do is beat the Narcos campaign. You might have a few more combat related trophies left but luckily for you, all your progress towards any of those trophies will carry over to this new campaign. The Narcos campaign can only be played once you have successfully completed the first DEA story mission.

The Narcos campaign has proven to be more difficult than the DEA campaign, but by now you should know a lot of the ropes this game has to offer so it shouldn’t prove to be too difficult. Play through the story missions normally and if you need help on any of the story related trophies, please refer to the guide as there are instructions on each trophy (Including story related ones) to make your platinum journey less of a headache.

Once you have successfully completed the Narcos campaign and returned to your home base, interact with El Patron’s journal by scrolling over to it with  and pressing . You will now see the journal has been completely filled out, and you will unlock the GoldTHE BOSS trophy followed by Platinum Plata o Plomo?

If you are missing any combat related trophies, you can now replay any of the story missions in any way you would like to farm the rest of whatever you need.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:

40-platinum Plata o Plomo?
Silver SIXTY SIX
Gold THE BOSS
Silver PESTICIDE
Silver PALACE IN FLAMES
Bronze EMPIRE BUILDING 101
Silver EL MEXICANO
Silver GAME OVER DEA!
Silver NARCOS JUSTICE

Trophy Guide:

Complete all Trophies in the game

This trophy is earned after you have successfully earned all of the other trophies in the game! Congratulations on adding a new platinum trophy to your collection!

BREAK THE SEAL
Successfully complete Tutorial

This trophy is earned after you have successfully completed the tutorial mission of the game. Upon launching the game, your only option will be to start the campaign for the DEA agents.

Once you have started, the game will automatically toss you into the tutorial mission. The tutorial acts just like any tutorial for a game and will show you all of the basics. You will learn how to move, attack, switch enemies, cover, counterattack, etc..

You will be tasked in picking up some intel and then bringing both available characters to a rendezvous location. Once there you will take out your first enemy before being equipped with some more heavy DEA agents. After this, you will have to take out 3 more Narcos enemies. Upon defeating all of the enemies you will have successfully completed the tutorial, and unlock this trophy.

EMPIRE BUILDING 101
Successfully complete the first Narcos side-mission

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the first side mission of the Narcos Campaign.

You will unlock the Narcos campaign after you have completed the first story mission of the DEA campaign. Once you have unlocked the Narcos campaign you can go earn this trophy now, (without losing any progress on your DEA campaign) or just wait until you finish the DEA campaign before moving to the Narcos campaign.

Side missions are missions in the game you must complete in order to unlock the main mission. The farther you progress into the game, the more side missions you will have to complete in order to unlock the next story mission. Side missions are different for each user but all revolve around protecting an asset, killing enemies, finding intel, or rescuing a hostage.

Upon launching the Narcos campaign your only option is to play a side mission. Complete this side mission and you will unlock this trophy.

WAR ON DRUGS 101
Successfully complete the first DEA side-mission

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully completed your first side mission as part of the DEA.

Side-Missions in this game are missions you have to complete to gather more info/intel for story missions. Upon completing the tutorial mission, your only available option is to play a side mission thus making this trophy story related.

The first side mission of the game is known as ‘Neutralize the Target’ and will cost you no many to start. This mission will also award you with $5,000 upon completion. It is a very simple and easy mission that requires you to take out 3 enemy Narcos. Just stay back and let them come to you, damaging them whenever you see fit.

Upon killing the 3rd and final enemy, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy.

NO LONGER THE ROOKIE
Level up a Unit

This trophy is earned after you have successfully level up your first unit to a new level.

To level up a unit you must first obtain ‘SP’ otherwise knowns as skill points. Skill points are obtained after the completion of each mission, and the amount you get varies depending on how well you do in each mission.

To level up a unit simply go to the ‘roster’ tab while you are at your home base. Here you will see a list of all the members that are in your squad. Click on any member that isn’t already at their max level and then select the ‘add skill points’ option. This is where you will spend your skill points to level up the unit that you select.

After you put enough skill points into leveling up a unit, simply confirm your decision and you will unlock this trophy. Some units take more than others to level up, and some units are maxed out at their current levels until you progress more through the story. Each time you level up a unit they become better overall as well as unlock new stats selectable by you.

Level up one unit to the next level, and this trophy will be unlocked.

RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Hire 10 recruits

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully hired a total of 10 recruits to your squad.

You can hire recruits to your squad at any time from the home base. To hire a recruit to your squad, head over to the roster tab of your home base for either DEA or Narcos. (It doesn’t matter) To the right of your roster it will show you how many available slots you have left for your squad. If you have some available slots and want to hire a new member simply press the button to view the eligible recruits.

Here there will be a randomized group of 5 units eligible to recruit ranging from levels 1-5.  The higher the level/more powerful the recruit is, the more money you will have to spend to hire them. You earn money by completing missions in the game. Some side missions cost money with big payouts, while other side missions will be free with smaller payouts. Story missions are always free, and will have the biggest payouts.

The more you progress through the game the more available slots you will have for your recruits. You can clear up slots at any time if you are ever full by killing off your units, or simply hovering over them in the roster tab and retiring them by selecting the “retire unit” option to the right. This trophy will likely come through natural progression your first time playing through one of the campaigns.

The total is cumulative across both campaigns, and you do not need to hire all 10 recruits on one campaign. The easiest way to achieve this trophy without getting low on funds is to wait until you beat one of the campaigns. By now you should have $100,000-$200,000 available funds to blow on recruits. Since there is no reason to play the campaign after beating it (except to have more fun or earn more money) you can simply spend all your money on cheap recruits until the trophy unlocks. You can even make a save prior to spending your money, and then reloading it after you pop the trophy so you get to keep your money while still getting the trophy.

Keep in mind that this trophy tends to pop late for some users. For some users this trophy has popped after hiring 10 recruits, while it took others 20+ recruits hired before unlocking it. Just keep hiring recruits across the 2 campaigns, and you will eventually unlock this trophy.

A NEW PARTNER upscale-245262160018212
Unlock PEÑA in the Campaign

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.

Pena is a playable character that is unlocked as part of the DEA campaign. Pena is a DEA leader and comes equipped with a Remington 870 sawed off shotgun. He also has skills that allow all units to get 1 action point extra per turn, as well as comes with an extra counteract able to be stored right off the bat.

You will unlock Pena after completing the 6th mission of the game known as ‘Day of the Dead’ This is the mission where you are tasked with killing El Mexicano. Upon starting this mission you will see that El Mexicano is located towards the back of the map, opposite from where you start. He is easier to kill than Posion, and his Narcos guards are easily defeated on this map as well. If you send one unit to the left and one unit to the right, you can easily flank most of the enemies which will force El Mexicano to get stuck between your units.

El Mexicano is equipped with a grenade launcher which means he will only attack you every other turn due to the fact he has to spend a turn to reload his weapon. Upon playing this mission several times, he only took out his pistol once. Knowing this, you can easily take advantage of his turn spent reloading by rushing him with a shot gun.

After you have successfully defeated El Mexicano, you will be taken back to your base. Here a notification will pop up letting you know that you have unlocked Pena as a playable character. Shortly after this, the trophy will unlock.

INCORRUPTIBLE upscale-245262160018212
Unlock CARRILLO in the Campaign

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.

Carrillo is a playable character that is unlocked as part of the DEA Campaign. Carrillo is a DEA leader and comes equipped with an SMG and Pistol. Unlike most units, Carrillo starts with two actions per turn. Carrillo is also based around gaining extra counteract for not only you, but your other units as well.

You will unlock Carrillo after you have successfully completed the 4th DEA story mission of the game known as ‘Called to Account’. During this mission you will be tasked in locating El Patron’s accountant. Upon locating him, you must protect him while bringing him to the extraction point. On your way to the extraction point there will be many Narcos trying to gun the accountant down.

If the accountant dies you will fail the mission, so keep him safe at all costs. Upon getting him to the extraction zone, you will have to survive a total of 6 waves before the mission is complete. It is important you know this so you can be prepared for the ambush of enemies that will spawn near the extraction zone for the next 6 waves.

Fend off the Narcos for 6 waves and you will complete the mission. After completing the mission the game will take you back to your base and you will be notified that Carrillo is now available to use, and he will be automatically added to your roster. Shortly after this, you will unlock the trophy.

Once they are defeated, plant the bomb and the gate will be destroyed.

Once you enter the compound you will be tasked with finding three pieces of evidence scattered across the map. There will be one in the center building, one to the back left and upstairs in another building, as well as one to the far right in another small building. To make matters worse there are a lot of enemies scattered across the compound that will be trying to kill you.

Take care of these enemies one by one while making your way to all 3 pieces of evidence. Once you have collected all 3 pieces of evidence, the mission will end. After this mission you will be taken back to the home base where you will be notified that you have unlocked Poison as a playable character. Shortly after this, you will unlock the trophy.

There will be roughly 8-10 of these that you must kill. They will be scattered across the entire map, and most will be jumping around the rooftops.

Simply play it smart and try to let them come to you will you build up counteract for your units. Continue to kill them one at a time while healing yourself. There will occasionally be more cops that spawn in the map. These cops do not need to be killed in order to complete the mission, but should still be dealt with if they are going to cause you any issues. Simply defeat all of the cops that have orange markers above their heads and the mission will be completed.

Upon completing the mission you will head back over to your home base. Here you will be informed that you have unlocked the playable character El Mexicano. Shortly after this, you will unlock the trophy.

During your standout, the DEA will send countless waves of enemies at you that spawn 4-5 enemies at a time. Each time a new group of enemies enters the mission, there will be 1 DEA Leader.

Just play the mission as you would normally any mission, and the DEA leaders will eventually spawn and start coming after you. PESTICIDE upscale-245262160018212
Kill Cockroach

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the first story mission of the Narcos campaign knows as ‘Pest Control’.

During this mission you will be tasked in chasing down Cockroach and killing him. This mission feels like a case of cat and mouse due to the fact that cockroach tends to run away from you the entire mission until you finally kill him. To make matters worse, there are enemies scattered across the entire map. While Cockroach is running away, he is also building up counter act. Keep that in mind when you are approaching him as he will easily defeat you while you run after him if you are low on health.

Once you defeat Cockroach you will trigger a cutscene, and unlock this trophy.

NARCOS JUSTICE upscale-245262160018212
Kill The Justice Minister

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will get this trophy after you have successfully defeated the Justice Minister in the 4th mission of the Narcos campaign known as ‘Deaths Door”.

Before starting this mission you must add Posion to you squad as the leader, otherwise it wont let you start it. Once the mission starts you will be tasked with making your way down the entire street to the other side of the map where you can find the Justice Minister’s Limo. He is inside this limo, and you must make your way there to destroy it.

Along the way there will be many DEA that you have to defeat. Once you get closer to the limo, more DEA will spawn in close to where it is which makes it more difficult in getting close to it. It is recommended you kill these two DEA member before getting any closer to the Limo, otherwise they will kill you quite easily. Once they are defeated, go to the opposite end of the limo from which you started to prevent any other DEA members from hitting you.

Destroy the Limo and you will unlock this trophy. Unfortunately, this is not where the mission ends and if you die you will have to do the entire mission over again. You next and final task is to defeat the 6+ cops that just spawned on the map. Take your time and heal your units before attacking. Let them come to you and take them out one by one and you shouldn’t find it to troubling to complete the rest of the mission.

After you have defeated all the cops, the mission will end. Upon returning to your home base you will be informed that you can now level your units up to level 4. This trophy will be popped AS SOON as the Justice Minister’s Limo has been destroyed. Just keep in mind there is still some more mission to be played.

PALACE IN FLAMES upscale-245262160018212
Destroy the evidence and finish the mission

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the 7th mission of the Narcos campaign known as ‘Blind Justice”.

This is another fairly easy mission if you have units that are able to travel a lot of spaces in single turns. As a matter of fact, you should be able to complete this mission in 5-6 turns so long as you do have pretty mobile units. Upon starting you will be tasked with destroying 3 pieces of evidence by lighting 3 separate rooms on fire. You do this by simply walking next to the room.

Before the mission starts there will be two deployment zones. Keep one unit in the right deployment zones room at all times. This will help GREATLY in the end of the mission. Once started, send one unit to make its way toward 1 of 3 evidence rooms. There will be one on the left side, middle, and right side of the map. You should only have to kill 1-2 enemies each unit depending on what skills you are using.

Upon lighting all 3 rooms on fire you will now be tasked into heading to the extraction point. If you kept a unit in the right deployment zone, then you will be able to walk into the extraction zone with that unit in one turn as the exit is right outside this room. Once you get into the extraction point, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy.

Upon returning to your base, you will also find that you can now upgrade your units to the max level being level 5.

MAGICIAN Gold
Complete the Narcos Campaign, escape into the jungle

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the 9th and final mission of the Narcos campaign known as ‘Last Stand’.

The Narcos campaign is one of two campaigns in the game, and can only be played after successfully completing the first story mission of the DEA campaign. You can play the campaign at any point in time without losing any progress made on your DEA campaign.

Upon starting the mission you will soon be faced what seems to be an impossible task of surviving 60 waves against DEA agents and leaders. Although 60 waves is a lot, it is easily manageable if you play smart and let the enemies come to you. During this mission I strongly suggest you use Primo (The character you start out with) and as many rifle units as you can. The ideal situation would be Primo and 4 rifle units.

Once the mission starts you will see a platform above you that also acts as a deployment zone. From the start of the mission, you want to put all 5 of your units up there. Ideally you will have Primo somewhere in the middle so that he can constantly use his skills to help not only him but your other units as well. With him in the middle of this platform, and two rifle units on each side, you should be for the most part indestructible if you are paying attention to your ammo and health for each unit.

You will also be getting a lot of counteract kills here so be ready to constantly be staring at your screen, even during the DEA’s turn as every bit of damage you do will help. Upon clearing the starting enemies, there will be a string of 5-8 rounds where there will be no DEA on the map. Take advantage of this down time to make sure every unit has full health and ammo. Once the DEA spawns more enemies, they will spawn in groups of 4-5 and continue to come to you. (Do not leave your spot).

You rifles can hit them from long distances, and by the time they get close enough to accurately hit you, you should be able to finish them off with a counteract if they aren’t already dead. Each time you kill a group of new DEA agents, you will have another string of 5-8 rounds where there are no enemies. While unsure if this was intended, take use of this while you can. Although it says you are surviving for 60 rounds, you realistically are only playing roughly 35-40 of them. Don’t let the mission scare you, as it can be done with just 3 units. The good news is if you manage to fail, you can keep all your units to try again without having to spend more money.

During this mission you will also get the SilverGAME OVER DEA!  trophy for killing a DEA leader. A DEA leader will spawn each time a new wave of enemies enter the map. Upon surviving all 60 waves, you will trigger a cutscene and unlock this trophy. When brought back to your home base, interact with El Patron’s journal and you will also unlock GoldTHE BOSS trophy.

NAMES AND FACES upscale-245262160018212
Gather the Intel and finish the mission

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will get this trophy after you have successfully completed the mission ‘Under the Hood’ from the DEA campaign.

This mission is unlocked after completing the two previous side missions leading up to it. During this mission you will first be tasked with finding a piece of intel, as well as locating two pieces of evidence. While gathering the intel/evidence in this mission, you will also have to face some enemies along the way.

After you have successfully picked up those three items, you will be ambushed by members of the Narcos and have to survive 6 total rounds to complete this mission. Make sure you move all your units away from the start of the level, otherwise you will be ambushed from behind during this part. After you have successfully survived these 6 waves, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy.

Completing this mission will also unlock the Narcos Campaign.

ANTIDOTE upscale-245262160018212
Kill Poison

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy during the 5th mission of the DEA campaign known as ‘Antidote’.

Before starting this mission you must assign Carrillo to your squad as your DEA leader, as the mission will not start until you do. Once the mission starts, your only objective will be to eliminate Poison. Poison is well protected by Narcos, and he is pretty far away from the starting point so you will have some work to do before killing him.

If you scale the left side of the map, you can easily make you way there while completing the secondary objective at the same time. You will end up across the street from the building Poison is hiding out in if you follow this path. Make your way across the street and into the building. Focus your fire on him to quickly kill him and end the mission. If Carrillo dies, you will fail the mission so be sure to keep him alive at all times.

Once you have successfully killed Poison, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy. After returning to your base you will also be notified that you can now have up to 16 units in your roster.

GOTCHA! upscale-245262160018212
Kill El Mexicano

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the 6th story mission of the DEA campaign known as ‘Day of the Dead’.

Once you have successfully defeated El Mexicano, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy. Upon returning to your base you will also unlock Pena as a playable character, which will unlock the SilverA NEW PARTNER  trophy.

THE RIGHT HAND upscale-245262160018212
Kill Primo

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the 8th mission of the DEA campaign known as ‘Country Cousin’.

This mission isn’t too bad. You will get word that Primo is hiding in the casino towards the back of the map and you must get there and kill him. The best route to take is sending one unit to the rooftops in front of you while sending another to the right side of the map. Kill the enemies on the right side of the map, and slowly have your units meet up with each other before storming the casino.

Once you arrive at the casino you will see Primo up top above the stairs with two Narcos guarding him from down below. You can either take out the narcos enemies or just storm Primo if you are confident with the amount of health and skills that you have. Odds are if you get close to him and shoot him once, he will then use his turn to run away from you before shooting you. If you have a counteract, you can simply shoot him when he is running away to defeat him.

Once you deplete all of Primo’s health, you will trigger a cutscene and the mission will end. Shortly after you will unlock this trophy. Upon making it back to your base you will also be informed that you can now have up to 22 members on your DEA roster.

SAVIOUR Gold
Complete the DEA Campaign, saving Sandoval

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed all 9 story missions of the DEA campaign.

The last mission of the game is known as ‘Club Medellin’. During this mission your goals are to locate El Patron, Sandoval, and then escape with Sandoval. The map is a giant prison, and there are multiple enemies in each area of the map. This mission is by far the hardest you have faced up to this point, but with a few tries you will complete it.

Sandoval is located on the left side of the map in a small room. You have to enter the building by either going through the front entrance, or climbing the pipe/stairs to get to the rooftop of this building. Take out all of the enemies as you please and make your way to the room where Sandoval is located. Upon reaching the room you will find out that El Patron has escaped.

For the remainder of the mission your only goal is to get Sandoval to the extraction point where your squad started the mission at the beginning of the level. Make your way back with Sandoval while taking out enemies to be sure there is a clear path. If you were clearing out enemies as you played, there is a good chance you can just keep running to the end with Sandoval until you reach the exit.

The good news is that once you reach the extraction point, you do not need to defend Sandoval. Upon reaching the extraction point, the mission will end and you will unlock this trophy. With this knowledge you can play the end of the mission however you want. If Sandoval is low on health but right next to the exit, just run to the exit to end the mission as there is no need to heal him or take out any more enemies. Once you have gotten to the extraction point with Sandoval, a cutscene will be triggered and you will unlock this trophy.

Congratulations, you have just beaten the DEA campaign. Upon returning to the home base, use the to hover over the intel board. Select the intel board and you will also unlock the GoldDedication trophy. You are now ready to start the Narcos campaign.

MARKSMAN
10 Kills with Pistol

This trophy is earned after you have successfully killed 10 enemies with the pistol.

Each unit is equipped with a pistol whether it is their primary or secondary weapon, each unit will have one. While most have it as a secondary weapon, you can view which weapon is equipped by looking in the bottom right of your screen during a mission. If your pistol is not equipped, simply press  to equip it before firing.

Pistols starting off (prior to unlocking any upgrades) will do anywhere between 1-3 damage. You can do damage with other weapons. As long as you kill the enemy with the pistol, it will count towards this trophy. With that being said, it is recommended you deplete an enemies health to anywhere between 1-3 before trying to finish them off with your pistol.

Pistol kills while in the counteract or kill shot phase will also count towards this trophy. Simply defeat 10 enemies while using a pistol, and you will unlock this trophy. Also keep in mind that kills between the DEA and Narcos campaign are shared, so you don’t need to get all 10 kills in a single campaign though highly likely that you will.

If need be you can also replay story missions after completing the respective campaign to rack up the rest of kills needed.

CLOSE ENCOUNTER
10 Kills with Shotgun

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully killed 10 enemies while using a shotgun.

The shotgun is one of the more powerful weapons in the game. From close range the shotgun can 1 shot kill most enemies when it is fully upgraded, as well as take out multiple enemies in one shot/turn. The shotgun also has a very respectable range allowing you to not only do massive damage to enemies, but also do it from a fair distance away.

You can see which weapon comes equipped with each unit by hovering over them in the roster menu. Additionally you can hire more recruits that have shotguns allowing you to get this trophy rather quickly. Keep in mind that only the final blow needs to come from the shotgun. You can damage an enemy with other weapons first, so long as you deal the final bit of damage with the shotgun it will count to your overall total of kills made with the weapon.

Shotgun kills while in the counteract or kill shot phase will also count towards this trophy. Simply defeat 10 enemies while using a shotgun, and you will unlock this trophy. Also keep in mind that kills between the DEA and Narcos campaign are shared, so you don’t need to get all 10 kills in a single campaign though highly likely that you will.

If need be you can also replay story missions after completing the respective campaign to rack of the rest of kills needed.

SPRAY N’ PRAY
10 Kills with SMG

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully killed 10 enemies while using a SMG.

The SMG works just like any SMG weapon in most games. Only few units will come equipped with an SMG. Starting off, the SMG will only do about 3 damage depending on how close/far you are to the enemy. It is definitely one of those weapons that starts off pretty weak, but can be a dangerous weapon by the time your unit gets to level 5.

You can see which weapon comes equipped with each unit by hovering over them in the roster menu. Additionally you can hire more recruits that have SMGs allowing you to get this trophy rather quickly. Keep in mind that only the final blow needs to come from a SMG. You can damage an enemy with other weapons first, so long as you deal the final bit of damage with a SMG it will count to your overall total of kills made with the weapon.

BOOM!
10 Kills with Grenades

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully killed 10 enemies while using grenades.

You can do this one of two ways, or a combination of the two. You can use grenade launchers as soon as you unlock units that carry them, as well as use actual grenades as soon as you unlock and equip the grenade skill. The grenade skill is exclusive to certain classes, as well as the grenade launcher. Whether you are using the grenade launcher or the actual grenades, both will add to your overall total. Grenades do up to 4 damage starting off (on direct impact) as well as do a decent amount of splash damage depending on how far it is away from the enemy.

You can see which weapon comes equipped with each unit by hovering over them in the roster menu. Additionally you can hire more recruits that have grenade launchers and/or grenades allowing you to get this trophy rather quickly. Keep in mind that only the final blow needs to come from a grenade. You can damage an enemy with other weapons first, so long as you deal the final bit of damage with a grenade it will count to your overall total of kills made with the weapon.

Unfortunately, you cannot use grenades/launchers during Kill Shot or Counteract phases. Also keep in mind that kills between the DEA and Narcos campaign are shared, so you don’t need to get all 10 kills in a single campaign though highly likely that you will.

If need be you can also replay story missions after completing the respective campaign to rack of the rest of kills needed.

THE PRO
10 Kills with Rifle

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully killed 10 enemies while using a rifle.

The rifle is by far arguably the best weapon in the game. Starting off it has so much range and damage, it will make you want to equip nothing but units carrying rifles. Once fully upgraded this thing is insanely powerful, and you can easily kill 2 enemies a turn depending on what skills you have unlocked and equipped. This weapon will be your go to in many difficult stages of the game.

You can see which weapon comes equipped with each unit by hovering over them in the roster menu. Additionally you can hire more recruits that have rifles allowing you to get this trophy rather quickly. Keep in mind that only the final blow needs to come from a rifle. You can damage an enemy with other weapons first, so long as you deal the final bit of damage with a rifle it will count to your overall total of kills made with the weapon.

Rifle kills while in the counteract or kill shot phase will also count towards this trophy. Simply defeat 10 enemies while using a rifle, and you will unlock this trophy. Also keep in mind that kills between the DEA and Narcos campaign are shared, so you don’t need to get all 10 kills in a single campaign though highly likely that you will.

If need be you can also replay story missions after completing the respective campaign to rack of the rest of kills needed.

CHANGE OF PLAN
Start the mission after changing a Unit’s Deployment Zone

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully changed a unit’s deployment zone.

A deployment zone is where you send your units to start each mission. You will first be introduced to this feature during the second side mission of the DEA campaign. A prompt will come up at the start instructing you how to change a units deployment, and the benefits of doing so. Not all missions will have multiple deployment zones as some will only have 1, thus locking you out of this trophy for that specific mission.

To change where a unit is deployed simply select that squad member, and move them using either or . Once you have moved a squad member to a new staring location, press the to end the deployment phase. If done correctly, your squad member will go to the other deployment zone, and you will unlock this trophy.

OUTFLANKED
Flank an enemy 20 times

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully flanked 20 enemies.

The game does a poor job of explaining how to flank, or what even counts as a flank for that matter. A flank occurs when an enemy is taking cover behind any piece of debris, a vehicle, a wall, etc.. and you approach them from their side or from behind and attack them. A flank also occurs when you are hiding behind something, and the enemy approaches you as well.

As weird as that sounds, that is what trigger a flank in this game. To make matters worse, the flank also only counts if you hit/kill the enemy after successfully catching them off guard by flanking them from either behind them or from their side. On the bright side, it is very likely that you get this trophy without even trying by the time you finish either of the two campaigns.

Just play the game normally, and if you fail to get this trophy by the time you beat both campaigns (which is highly unlikely) then you can replay story missions by viewing the map for whichever campaign you prefer so that you can get more flanks. Keep in mind that flanks accumulate between both playthroughs so you don’t have to get all 20 flanks on one campaign.

Upon getting 20 successfully flanks, you will unlock this trophy.

SKILLED UP
Kill an enemy using a Skill

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully killed one enemy while using a skill.

Skills are unlocked for most units after they have reached level 2-3 and above. While some skills allow you to get out of bad instances quickly, others are used strictly to do some damage to enemies. Once you have unlocked a skill for one of your units that does damage, you can attempt this trophy.

The most common action/skill used in the game would be one that guarantees damage to an enemy. Once you have one of these skills simply damage an enemy to the point where they will die from one action, and then attack them with your ‘skill’ instead of how you would normally. If done correctly, the enemy will die and you will unlock this trophy.

Once you have successfully killed one enemy while using a skill from one of your units, you will unlock this trophy.

AMMO SAVING
Kill more than 1 enemy in a single Action

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully defeated 2 or more enemies with a single action.

An action is considered one attack. (Not one turn, or string of attacks) What this means is that you have to kill 2 or more enemies with the use of a single attack. One grenade, on launcher shot, one shot of the shotgun etc.. The easiest way to do this is to play normally until you see 2 or more enemies line up close to one another.

If you have a shotgun or launcher these will work the best. You also need to make sure the enemies are low enough on health so that a single shot from whatever you shoot/throw will kill them. If you have a shotgun simply run as close to possible to them as you can. You can either use a normal attack if its strong enough, or use a skill such as ‘buck shot’ to do additional damage.

If you are using a grenade or grenade launcher, wait until two or more enemies are close together and low enough on health so that a single shot from the grenade launcher, or a single grenade will kill them. Keep in mind that a direct hit with a grenade will cause more damage than if you were to just throw or shoot it next to them.

You can use a skill or normal attack as it does not matter so long as you kill 2 or more enemies with that one attack. Simply kill 2 or more enemies with a single action and you will unlock this trophy.

MEDIC!
Heal 50 health

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully healed yourself for a total of 50 health.

To heal yourself you must first take some damage from the enemy. Once it is your turn you can select the unit that has been damaged, and spend an action point to heal yourself for 1HP. Upon upgrading your units you can heal for additional HP, as well as unlock skills that allow you to heal for multiple HP per turn.

This does not have to be done in one mission as the game will track your progress across all missions in the game. You will likely unlock this trophy by the time you complete the 3rd story mission of the DEA campaign. You can also unlock skills later in the game that allow you to heal other units which can become super helpful in not only earning this trophy, but progression of the campaign.

Simply heal your units for a total of 50 health and you will unlock this trophy.

BORN LEADER
Complete a battle with only 1 Squad death

This trophy is earned after you have successfully completed a battle with either 1 or less deaths. A battle is otherwise known as a mission, and this trophy can be earned on any mission in the game. (Including the tutorial)

There are several missions in the game, and you will likely unlock this trophy without even realizing it during the tutorial mission at the beginning of the game. You are allowed to take damage, and even lose a member of your squad. You must simply beat any mission without losing more than one member of your squad, and you will unlock this trophy.

If you somehow manage to get through the game without earning this trophy, simply play the tutorial mission once more without losing more than one member from your squad.

BULLSEYE! upscale-245262160018212
Successfully complete 10 Kill Shots

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully performed 10 Kill Shots.

You will be instructed on how kill shots work during the tutorial at the beginning of the game. A kill shot is activated after you have lowered an enemy to just 1 health. If done correctly, it will say Kill Shot on your screen and allow you to aim and fire at your enemy once more for the chance to kill them. If you hit them, there is a 100% chance they will die, and this is what adds to your overall total of successful kill shots. If you miss, it will not count.

You can see how much damage you will do to your enemy before firing your weapon. Above their health bar will show a percentage on how likely you are to hit them, and to the right it will show how much damage you have the chance to inflict on them. The closer you are, the higher your chances will be. Their health bar will also be blinking which is another indicator of how much damage you will be doing to them.

Simply use weapons that will lower the enemy to 1 health bar to activate kill shot. Once in kill shot, use to aim and then fire with to shoot. It doesn’t matter if you shoot them in the head or the body as any shot that comes in contact with them at this point will kill them.

Successfully hit/kill 10 enemies during a kill shot, and you will unlock this trophy.

MOVING TARGET upscale-245262160018212
Successfully complete 10 Counteracts

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully completed 10 counteracts.

A counter act takes place when an enemy tries to run away, and ends up running through the line of site of one of your squad members. If you have counteract built up, it will prompt you to quickly aim and shoot at your running target by using to aim, and to fire. Without upgraded a character, the default counteract allows you to fire up to 3 times before it ends. As long as you hit an enemy at least one time during a counteract, it will add to your overall total.

Note that you do not need to kill an enemy during a counteract for this to count, simply damaging them will suffice. Also take into consideration while playing that enemies can also counteract you, so don’t run around like crazy.

After you have successfully hit an enemy 10 times during a counteract, you will unlock this trophy.
