Introduction:

Welcome to the Fortnite Trophy Guide! While Fortnite’s most popular game mode is Battle Royale, its trophy set focuses on the “Save The World” mode where the player takes the role of commander of home base shelters, collecting resources and saving survivors from the storm.

Roadmap:

Stage 1: Complete the Tutorial

In the tutorial, you will learn the basics of the game (e.g Building, Crafting, Crafting weapons, different types of enemies, etc.)

The tutorial is very illustrative and explanatory,  It will teach you everything you need to know for the rest of the game. It is recommended that you open your options by pressing Options and clicking Cross on the gear icon. Go to controls and swap them to builder pro, This will help you a lot if you learn it from the beginning of the game.

You’ll be earning these trophies:

Gunsmith
Take Out Those Husks
Some Sort of Rocket
Shelter from the Storm
Constructor Leadership

Stage 2: Complete the Story

The story of Fortnite: Save the World mode is very long and grindy, This isn’t a quick 6 – 8 hour long story like most games. This will probably take around 60 – 120 hours to complete! In addition to that, the full story of the game hasn’t even been released yet. The ‘Twine Peaks’ storyline acts still have yet to be released, but don’t worry too much as there aren’t any trophies relating to Twine Peaks and there will not be an expansion trophy list for Twine Peaks since there wasn’t one for Canny Valley Act 2 & Act 3.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:

Ride the Lightning,
Retrieve the Data,
Rescue the Survivors,
Can You Feel that Shield Power?,
Launch the Rocket,
Walk the Plank!,
Two Swirls,
Ray.README,
Wow, I’m Inside!,
Gotta Get Rifty,
Shelter Skelter,
Liberation!,
Crank Up the Gain,
Many Planks,
Future Days,
Amped for Expansion,
Uncanny!,
Into the Night,
All Tied Up,
… Oops.

Stage 3: Side Missions and Evolutions

As you go through the story you will get more and more of these done passively but there may be a few that you don’t earn, so go back and complete it. Some side missions only unlock after completing specific story missions.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Hired Gun,
Man on a Mission,
Become a Superhero,
All Together Now,
Survivor Specialist,
Proven Defender,
Darwin Rewards,
Evil Things with Crazy Teeth

Stage 4: Kill, Loot, Explore, Smash Gnomes! Save people, Build, Play With Others & Kill Some More

“This is where the fun begins,” said no one who owns this platinum trophy. Now that you’ve gone through everything it’s time to grind, grind, grind. Since you’ve finished the story there is no reason to pick your mission if you’re going for the platinum trophy. From this point on you should only use quickplay, which is located next to your Homebase Storm Shield on the map as a yellow question mark “?“.

Some general tips for this stage are:

  • Focus on killing as many mist monsters as possible.
  • Make sure to fully explore each zone. (you don’t need to fully explore it, just earn the “Exploration badge” can be found by pressing Up and going to “objective” with R1 (twice) and go down to “Badges” to view if you have earned the “Exploration badge” or not.
  • Build, build, build, waste your materials to reach that 500,000 needed for the Silver “Talented Builder” trophy.
  • Save every survivor you see.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Talented Builde
Go Gnome!
Guardian Angel
Loot Legend
World Explorer
Unspeakable Horrors
Plays Well with Others

TIPS & STRATEGIES

These are some important and useful tips while playing through Fortnite’s Save the World mode:

  • It is recommended that you open your options by pressing Options and clicking Cross on the gear icon. Go to controls and swap them to builder pro. This will help you a lot if you learn it from the beginning of the game.
  • You can edit your builds a lot faster if you go into your gameplay settings and change the “hold to edit” time to 0.10 instead of the default. But this may be too short of a time and you may get stuck in build mode and have to tap Circle more than once to exit it, so maybe 0.10 – 0.15 depending on what is best for you.
  • You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”. All of these stats are related to trophies, and checking them on a website that tracks them automatically is a lot better than writing them all down on a piece of paper and hoping you counted them right. Edit: Although the method in red Is still valid, Fortnite has recently had an update showing the same statistics in the QUEST (R3) section of the main menu. you can now easily track it whenever you want without updating your profile on a sperate website.
  • Once you get the ability to craft Tire 4 / PL 106 Weapons you will have the option to make them “Obsidian” or “Shadowshard” This will confuse a lot of players and you may not be satisfied with your choice if you pick the wrong one. Shadowshard is recommended for Assult Rifles, Submachine and all types of Automatic weapons and Obsidian is recommended for back-up and secondary weapons, that you may need to craft if you run out of Shadowshard for primary weapons.
  • Don’t trade! trading weapons for weapons or resources for weapons is not a good way to get powerful weapons. You will most likely get scammed by the person you are trading with unless they are your friend(s) only trade with people you trust fully.
  • SAVE your vBucks! The chances of getting something good and/or something you want is so low from upgrade llamas, they are not even worth buying.

There are multiple types of craftable weapons and rarities.

  • Common – Gray
  • Uncommon – Green
  • Rare – Blue

The best bases to build are square around the objective. You should protect and edit your floors too by removing the 2 furthest tiles on the floor.

Complete “Toxic Treasures – Stage 10”

STORY GRIND

“Toxic Treasures” is a side quest unlocked in Plankerton. “Toxic Treasures” requires you to kill husks who are hidden in a blue chest, They are disguised as regular loot chests but can be told apart by looking at the chest to see if it moves in a wiggle motion.

Talented Builder  upscale-245262160018212
Build 500,000 Structures in successful missions

GRIND

This trophy requires you to build a whopping 500,000 structures, which is a lot! This trophy might even be the last trophy you earn in this game due to how high of a number this is. After you maximize the number of materials you can collect to will be able to hold up to 15,000 materials which will create 1,500 structures, meaning you will need to collect 5,000,000 materials.

However, if you play as a constructor, some constructors have the ability to cut the number of materials needed to build from 10 to 5. This means you’ll need 2,500,000 materials instead of 5,000,000. It is highly recommended to play as an Outlander in order to have the extra pickaxe damage to collect materials faster. And then switch to a constructor when you want to work towards the build count.

If this is the last trophy you are trying to achieve then try filling your storm shield storage with materials and use them all in a low level “Destroy the Encampment” (Solo by turning privacy to private) AFTER you destroyed 5 so that it is a guaranteed victory, because if you fail the mission, you lose the materials and don’t have the builds count towards the trophy. However, with the new war games endurance, any progress you make on mist monster kills, building structures, and if you got into the endurance via SSD assist; will all count the progress even if you don’t survive all the way through the max of wave 30. so you can technically store the progress without being “successful” since you failed to clear all waves.

Some more general things to note:

  • The best Outlander for farming materials is “STRIKER A.C”.
  • The best constructor to use to save materials is “AIRHEART” But not everyone will own “AIRHEART” so just test different max level constructors, leveling them up shouldn’t be a problem because you will have lots of extra unused Hero XP late game. Especially from recycling defenders and unused heroes..

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

Go Gnome! upscale-245262160018212
Destroy 100 Garden Gnomes in successful missions

GRIND

Garden Gnomes spawn randomly around the map and have the chance to give to “active power cells” used to craft high tier weapons. Garden Gnomes spawn a lot more frequently in Canny valley, you will most like be able to get up to 5 per Canny valley mission.

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

Guardian AngelGold
Save 10,000 Survivors in successful missions

GRIND

This trophy requires you to save a whopping 10,000 total cumulative survivors in successful missions over the course of the game.

Survivors are saved in all types of missions, they are indicated by a “blue person” icon. The best way to save the most survivors is to play “Rescue the Survivors” missions as they can spawn a maximum of 15 survivors. Do not confuse this with the amount of “People” you have in your “Resources” tab as “Survivors” and “People” are different.

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

Loot Legend  upscale-245262160018212
Loot 300 Treasure Chests in successful missions

GRIND

This trophy requires you to loot 300 total cumulative treasure chests in successful missions over the course of the game.

Treasure chests spawn all over the map at different levels depending on the power level of the mission you are playing the levels are from 1 – 6. They spawn randomly around the map and can provide good loot at higher power levels.

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

World Explorer  upscale-245262160018212
Fully explore 1,500 zones in successful missions

GRIND

This trophy requires you to fully explore 1,500 zones in successful missions over the course of the game.

When you start a mission you will spawn into a randomly generated map, and if you press Touch Pad you will be able to view the map. At first, it will seem hard and time-consuming to fully discover the map, but you will unlock faster Heroes and also unlock the Hoverboard. So getting these done will be easy, you should try to combine this with Gold “Plays Well with Others.”

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

Unspeakable Horrors upscale-245262160018212
Kill 20,000 Mist Monsters in successful missions

GRIND

This trophy requires you to kill a whopping 20,000 Mist Monsters in successful missions over the course of the game.

Mist Monsters are a much larger and dangerous form of husk. They do not damage objectives but they damage you and structures/defenses to distract the player and allow smaller husks to damage the objective. The easiest way to get a lot of mist monsters is to play high level “Destroy the Encampments” missions you will be able to kill 50 – 70 mist monsters if you fully complete the mission.

You can more easily track this stat by going to StormShieldOne’s PVE Stat Tracker and searching your “Epic games account name”.

The most common kind of Mist Monster is the “Blaster” (Shown below).

The Blaster is very tall and slim but has eyes that shoot a powerful laser and as a group, they can be extremely deadly, but you should only encounter 2 – 3 at most at a single moment in a fight.

Complete 1,000 Play With Others missions

GRIND

Play with Others is a special mission type. You can select it by going to the map of any region and pressing Cross on the “?” Icon. The player can join another random player’s mission or Storm Shield defense and receive 20%  extra bonus XP upon completion.

This can help with leveling up after around level 150, but you will probably achieve max level by the time you play 1,000.

Edit: As of the newer update, SSD assist and war games assist counts towards “play well with others missions”

Complete “I’m Probably Dead”

STORY

“I’m Probably Dead” is a mission mid-Plankerton.

In this mission you need to “Protect the Servers”, you will find SPOILER: a lab belonging to ray’s creator. and you will need to defend four servers.

The easiest way to beat this mission is to only focus on one server, instead of all 4. This type of mission is just like any other defend style mission. Except you will be given a timer to set up defenses once you discover the servers and once the timer is over the mission will start.

If you are having trouble completing this mission then consider the following:

  • Assemble a better team through Gaming Sessions or Reddit /r/FORTnITE “LFG room”.
  • Focus on protecting one server instead of all 4.
  • If you don’t have other teammates joining through matchmaking, then consider playing on different region servers. You can do this by pressing Options select the “Gear/Cog” Icon and the first option down is “Matchmaking Region”.
