Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Trophy Guide

Trophy Roadmap:

Difficulty: 4/10
Estimated time to platinum/100%: 32 – 35 hours
Missable trophies: None
Glitched trophies: None
difficulty related: None
Playthrough: 1

Introduction:

Welcome to the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Trophy Guide! In this open world action role-playing game you will go through 4 different sagas on your way to completing the story and earning your platinum trophy.

Roadmap:

Step 1: Complete the Story / Do 10+ Sub Stories / Shenron Wishes / + More

During this step you will focus on a number of different things. Your main focus will be simply completing the story while doing a minimum of 10 sub stories. You will need to complete only 10 sub stories to unlock the BronzeDo-Gooder, but it is best to do them as you come to them to earn additional XP.

The more XP you earn while playing through the story will help you out in the endgame trophies. Another thing to pay attention to while playing is making wishes to Shenron. You will need to make a total of 10 wishes to Shenron in order to get the Silver Shenron’s Favorite trophy as well as the 2 other trophies you’ll unlock prior to getting this one. (After your 1st and 5th wishes).

You will be able to make wishes as soon as you complete the second saga in the game. After collecting all 7 dragon balls, you are able to make wishes to either replay any fight, get zeni, get Z Orbs, or get rare materials. Be sure to wish for nothing but Zeni, Z Orbs, and Materials each time you make a wish. This is so you are able to have a lot of money to buy healing items later in the game, as well as having Z Orbs and Materials for the other related trophies.

I added the dragon balls to this step because it takes 20 minutes after each wish before you can make another. If you stay on top of finding the dragon balls as soon as you can, then you will have the trophies before completing the game. You can also continue to make wishes after your 10th has been made if you feel like you need more money and what not.

Before completing the game you will also earn all 3 trophies related to the Z encyclopedia. Be sure to open the encyclopedia from time to time so that you also get the D Medals and other items gifted to you for unlocking more entries. After completing the game you can also talk to Master Roshi located at the “Kame House” to turn in all of your completed turtle school training challenges. Doing so will also net you those 3 trophies.

You will also get over 100 D Medals by playing the game, talking to Master Roshi to turn in challenges, and opening your Z Encyclopedia after unlocking new entries. This means you will also get the two trophies related to D Medals simply by progressing through the game. You will also likely unlock random miscellaneous trophies during this step. Any trophies not earned during this step will either be achieved during the next few steps, or the final clean up step.

You’ll be earning these trophies:

Bronze Former Foe
Silver Worse For Wear
Silver Emperor No More
Silver Earth’s New Champion
Gold Bye-Bye, Buu
Bronze Helping Hand
Bronze Do-Gooder
Bronze A Dark Omen
Bronze Wish Maker
Bronze Getting Greedy
Silver Shenron’s Favorite
Bronze There’s Nothing Like a Home-Cooked Meal!
Bronze Medal Madness
Silver Heavy Medal
Bronze Newfound Power
Bronze Tell Me More
Silver Thirsty for Knowledge
Gold Fountain of Knowledge
Bronze Turtle School Trainee
Bronze Turtle School Master
Silver Turtle School Legend

Step 2: Complete 10 Training Ground Challenges / Acquire 100 Upgrades

During this step you will focus on completing 10 training ground challenges with a single character, and then unlocking 100 upgrades across all of your characters. I recommend doing this step before any of the following steps so that you can learn some more abilities, and upgrade them accordingly. This will make some of the harder endgame fights more playable.

You will need to be leveled up high enough to unlock the later training missions, as well as have enough D Medals to start the training mission. You will also use this time to spread 100 upgrades to your skills / masteries across any of your characters. Upgrading your skills will cost nothing but Z Orbs. You should have more than enough Z Orbs by the time you get to this step if you have spent your wishes on them, as well as beaten the campaign.

Once you have completed 10 training ground challenges with a single character and upgrades a total of 100 skills across any of your characters, you are ready for the next step.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:

Bronze Push It to the Limit
Bronze Highly Skilled
Silver A Super Warrior Is Born

Step 3: Defeat all Villainous Parties / Defeat Mira

During this step your focus will be defeating all of the villainous parties in the game, and then defeating Mira. Mira will spawn in the planet of Kais after all of the villainous parties have been defeated. Mira will be level 100, but can easily be defeated even if you are in the 70-80 range as long as you have plenty of healing items.

For more information on how to defeat Mira, please view the Gold Down with the Demon Realm! trophy. After defeating all of the villainous parties in the game and then defeating Mira, you are ready for the next step.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Bronze Evil All Around
Silver Purging the Plague
Gold Down with the Demon Realm!

Step 5: Complete a Level 10 Training Room Challenge

During this step you will focus on gathering all of the materials needed to upgrade your training room to level 10, and then completing the challenge. You gain access to the training room at the capsule corporation during the Cell Saga. You will need D Medals, Zeni, and other materials to upgrade your room from level 1 to 10.

Once your room is at level 10 you can then complete the challenge. You will be going up against 3 level 95 characters depending on who you play with, so bring plenty of healing items and your 3 strongest fighters. For more information on how to defeat a level 10 training room, view the Gold Tough Enough trophy.

After defeating the level 10 training room challenge, you are ready for the final step. If following my guide, the hardest stuff has been completed.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Gold Tough Enough

Step 5: Miscellaneous / Clean-Up

This step will be used to clean up any of the remaining trophies you have left in the game. You will likely already be close to achieving most of them depending on how you have been playing. Any combat related trophies you might need can be cleaned up against random parties, or by playing training grounds.

You will likely get a lot of Kai messages by gathering materials to upgrade your training room. You will need 20 total in order to get the respective trophies. You will also need to destroy a total of 10 boulders blocking caves. You will get a lot of these done by traveling to different mineral deposits to gather materials as well. If you haven’t already, you will also be building your hover car and Robo Walker here.

Here you will also be cooking your 5 different full course meals if you haven’t already. For more information on getting any trophies mentioned in this step, you can simply view them in the guide below. If following this roadmap, you will have your platinum after completing this step.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:

Bronze The Voice in My Head
Bronze Who Needs a Phone?
Bronze Excavator
Bronze Demolition Artist
Bronze Only the Finest
Bronze Not Worth My Time
Bronze Can’t Touch This
Bronze Let the Building Begin!
Bronze Get out of My Head and Turn into My Car
Bronze Robot Rider
Bronze The Power of Friendship
Bronze Z Combo Zealot
Bronze Flashy Finish
40-platinum Dragon Ball Master

Tips and Strategies:

Here you will find some additional tips to help you towards your platinum run, as well as some additional info to help you in the general combat and completing the game.

  • Resting at campfires will instantly restore all of your health and Ki. Do this after each fight so you aren’t wasting your healing items.
  • Find the dragon balls as soon as you are available to so you can make wishes throughout the game to max out on Zeni, Z Orbs, and Rare materials. It takes 20 minutes in between wishes.
  • If you want help getting additional XP, focus on the Kai community board. This is the only board that grants you additional XP and even double XP once it is maxed out.
  • Do side missions as they become available to help you earn additional XP as you play.
  • Be sure to have plenty of health items (especially in the endgame stages) to make fights easier to win and almost impossible to fail.
  • Don’t forget that you can upgrade your skills and masteries for each character to make them stronger.

The roadmap is designed to earn the trophies in the most time efficient way possible. Each trophy will have a description and/or walkthrough on how it is obtained. For any information on how to earn any of the trophies in the game, please view their respective trophies.

Trophy Guide:

Dragon Ball Master
Obtain all trophies.

You relived the Full Dragon Ball story and became the ultimate super saiyan!

Former Foe
Win the simulation battle against Piccolo.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will earn this trophy after you have successfully won the simulation battle against Piccolo.

This will be the first trophy that you earn in the game. As soon as the opening cut-scene has ended, you will be thrown into a battle simulation against Piccolo. This fight is easy and acts as a short tutorial to teach you some of the fighting controls in the game.

Just dodge piccolo’s attacks with the  button, and attack him when you have time to do so. You can attack him by any means necessary and even use some of your ultimate abilities here to help finish him off. As soon as you have successfully defeated piccolo you will then trigger a new cut-scene.

During this cut-scene, you will unlock this trophy.

Worse For Wear upscale-245262160018212
Complete the Saiyan Saga.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the Saiyan Saga.

The Saiyan saga is the first saga / chapter of the game which consists of 7 episodes. This trophy unlocks after finishing the final episode of this saga known as “The Resistance”. Prior to this episode you will be facing off against Vegeta while controlling Goku.

After successfully fending off both forms of Vegeta, you will soon take control of Gohan. Gohan and Krillin will then sense something might be wrong and make their ways back over to where Goku and Vegeta are facing off. Upon approaching the scene, you will soon see you will need to defeat Vegeta with Gohan.

Finish off Vegeta and you will then trigger a string of new cut-scenes. Once Vegeta is defeated and you successfully trigger the cut-scenes, this trophy will unlock.

Emperor No More upscale-245262160018212
Complete the Frieza Saga.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will get this trophy after you have completed the Frieza Saga.

The Frieza saga is the second saga in the game. You will spend most of this saga on the planet of Namek. You will fight many foe throughout the duration of this saga. You will also be introduced to dragon balls towards the end of it. You will eventually be playing as Gohan, and you will go steal a dragon ball hidden by Vegeta.

The last episode of this saga is known as “Evil Emperor Frieza – The Legendary Super Saiyan”. You will be playing as Goku and learn how to control / activate your super saiyan ability to defeat Frieza. You will have to then defeat Frieza to complete this saga.

Frieza is your toughest battle thus far in the game. You will have to learn his combos to avoid getting hit, as one hiccup can cost you a lot of your HP. Just go in and attack him with , then start to back up and dodge as soon as you see him charging up his abilities. (There will be red flames/aura around him when doing so) If he is using projectiles, just continue to dodge left/right until he is done. If he is doing a melee combo just back dodge out of there until he executes his move, then go in for the attack.

Use your abilities when you knock Frieza back for additional damage. You will be quicker and stronger than you are used to since this will be your first time being Super Saiyan. Just rinse and repeat until he is defeated. It also helps to have a few health items just in case you got close to being defeated. After he is defeated, you will have to talk to your comrades to officially end this saga.

Once the final cut-scene triggers, the saga will be completed and you will unlock this trophy.

Earth’s New Champion upscale-245262160018212
Complete the Cell Saga.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the Cell Saga of the game.

The Cell Saga is the third saga in this game. The final section of this saga will take places at Cell’s Arena. Here you will have multiple battles against cell, as well as one against 3 Cell JR enemies. This string of battles will take place one after the other so it is best to be sure you are well equipped with healing items.

The first battle will be Goku VS Cell. Once you learn his moves/combos it is a fairly straight forward fight. Right after this battle you will then take on Cell while controlling Gohan. If you just completed the previous fight, you will have no problems completing this one as Cell will perform the exact same moves.

After successfully defeating cell for the second time, you will have to take on 3 Cell JR enemies at the same time. On the bright side, you will be playing as Goku with Vegeta and Trunks by your side. This fight is more complex as all of the enemies main focus will be put on attacking you. Just pay attention to all of the arrow indicators / red beams so you know when to dodge.

Make use of your support abilities and Z combos during this fight. The fight gets easier as you start to defeat the cell enemies as there will be one less enemy to deal with. As soon as you defeat the Cell JR enemies, you will take on Cell once again while playing as Gohan. Gohan has now learned his “Super Saiyan 2” ability, and you will end this fight fairly quickly.

After defeating Cell, you will have to fight him one more time. You will be playing as Gohan again, but this time Cell has many new abilities to look out for. Learn his moves and simply attack him when you can. Don’t be greedy with how many hits you put on him before evading. Be patient as one hiccup will cost you hundreds of thousands of health depending on what move he hits you with.

If you have healing items for this fight, you will be able to get through it after learning the way Cell attacks. After successfully defeating Cell for the final time, you will trigger a string of cut-scenes and dialogue. After all of these cut-scenes, the saga will be completed and you will unlock this trophy.

Bye-Bye, Buu Gold
Complete the Majin Buu Saga.

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully completed the Majin Buu Saga.

The Majin Buu saga is the final saga of the game. Once this saga has been completed, you will have officially beaten the Main Story of this game. The first half of this saga consists of preparing for the fight tournament, while the final half consists of fighting Majin Buu several times with several different characters.

Majin Buu after being defeated a few times will eventually transform into King Buu. After defeating King Buu a few times, you will then face off against his final form in this game known as “Kid Buu”. You will face off against Kid Buu as Vegeta, followed by Goku to finish him off.

The good news is that the game will continuously grant you loads of XP after each battle, leveling up your characters enough to be on par with your opponent. It also tends to get easier each time you face off against one of Buu’s forms do to the fact that you are getting stronger each time he is defeated, and his moved tend to stay the same throughout each fight which will allow you to memorize them.

The final battle should not prove to be difficult, especially if you have plenty of healing items. Goku should be around level 70 (give or take a few levels) during this final fight. The only difference between this fight and the other fights involving Buu is that he will constantly be using his Ultimate Abilities non stop. If you thought the abilities were spammed in previous fights, just wait until you play this one.

Just dodge his attacks while quickly going in for a few jabs in between with the button. Once he starts to charge up, quickly evade out of the way with  and then go back in for some more damage. You don’t even need to use any of your ultimate abilities during this fight. Just rinse and repeat until Kid Buu has been defeated for the final time. After learning his moved and which dodges to use, he will be an easy battle.

After finishing off Kid Buu with Goku, you will trigger a string of cut-scenes followed by the credits. (The credits cannot be skipped) Once the credits are done rolling, there will be a few more strings of dialogue. Once this is complete, a prompt will come up telling you about what to do now that you have completed the story. Once this prompt comes up, this trophy will follow shortly after.

Helping Hand
Complete a sub story.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully completed a sub story.

Sub stories are also known as “side missions” and will grant you extra XP as well as unique items every time you finish one of them. You will know it is a side mission by the Blue exclamation mark above the quest giver, as well as the one on your mini map.

The first sub story you will have access to is known as “Master Roshi’s Prized Possession”. This sub story will become available as soon as you take Gohan to Master Roshi, and is given to you by the tortoise in the corner of the island. Interact with the tortoise to accept this mission. Complete it by talking to a few comrades until you eventually dig it up behind the house.

Once you find the “Girl Book” for Master Roshi, a cut-scene will be triggered and you will have successfully completed your first sub story and unlock this trophy. There are many sub stories in this game, and I recommend doing them as you see them to help level up your character for the story missions. Leveling your character as you play will make your story tremendously easier.

You will also need to complete 10 sub stories for the Bronze Do-Gooder trophy, so keep that in mind as you play as well. You can also see which missions / sub stories you have completed by going to the “Story” tab of the pause menu, and scrolling to the “completed” tab.

As soon as you complete your first sub story, you will unlock this trophy.

Do-Gooder
Complete 10 sub stories.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully completed 10 sub stories.

Sub stories are also known as “side missions” and will grant you extra XP as well as unique items every time you finish one of them. You will know it is a side mission by the Blue exclamation mark above the quest giver, as well as the one on your mini map.

There are many sub stories throughout the entirety of the campaign. All sub stories can also be completed post game as nothing is missable, though it is recommended to do them as you see them to get additional XP to help you during the story. Some side missions can only be completed with specific characters in your party. (It will tell you when you arrive to the mission which character you need before starting it)

You can also easily see which zones have side missions by opening your world map (Press when viewing the normal map with Touch Pad) and look for the blue exclamation marks next to the image of the zone. These indicate that there are available sub stories to be completed in that zone. Quick travel there and then complete the missions at your own leisure.

Most sub stories are pretty quick / easy and only involve you defeating a party of enemies, or finding a few ingredients. Each time you complete a sub story you will get a “story complete” tab and see all the items / XP you have been awarded. You can also see which sub stories you have completed by going to the “story” tab of the pause menu, and scrolling to the completed missions tab. You will also get the Bronze Helping Hand trophy after completing your first sub story.

After successfully completing your 10th sub story, you will unlock this trophy.

A Dark Omen
Defeat your first Villainous party.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully defeated your first Villainous party.

Villainous parties are just like normal parties that you encounter throughout the world, except they will be more powerful and have more HP. You can tell they are a villainous party by the distinctive red aura that surrounds them. These enemies cannot be instantly defeated like the normal parties either.

Another way to tell they are a villainous party is the red crown icon that will appear on both your mini map, as well as the world map. If you see a red crown on your world map next to the zones respective icon, you will know there is a villainous party (or several) in that zone. If you hover over the zone, it will also tell you that a villainous party has appeared.

Once you arrive to the zone you can simply fly around or look at your mini map/zone map to find out where these parties are located. The parties will get progressively harder as you make your way through the story / fights. You can also see the recommended level you need to be for the villainous party prior to starting it. This is good just so you can easily tell if you are able to take on the party or not.

This trophy is also story related, and you will unlock it towards the end of the first saga. When you travel back to your mothers house with Gohan, you will be greeted by your first Villainous party. You will be forced to defeat this party before moving on, making this trophy obtainable through natural progression.

There are many Villainous Parties in the game. On top of this trophy, you will need to defeat 20 of them for the Bronze Evil All Around as well as 30 for the Silver Purging the Plague trophy. You will also need to defeat every single one of them for the first step of the Gold Down with the Demon Realm! Trophy. You can view those respective trophies for more information on how to obtain them.

Simply defeat your first villainous party to unlock this trophy.

Evil All Around
Defeat 20 Villainous parties.

After you have successfully defeated 20 villainous parties, you will unlock this trophy. Check out Bronze A Dark Omen for more information.

Purging the Plague upscale-245262160018212
Defeat 30 Villainous parties.

After you have successfully defeated 30 villainous parties, you will unlock this trophy. Check out Bronze A Dark Omen for more information.

Down with the Demon Realm! Gold
Win the battle against Mira.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully won the battle against Mira.

Mira is a boss that only appears after you have defeated all of the Villainous parties in the game. Although you only need to defeat 30 of them for Silver Purging the Plague, you will need to defeat every single one to unlock this fight. Villainous parties will be displayed on your maps with a red crown. They will also be the only enemies that have red ki around them in the open world.

After defeating all of the villainous parties in a single area, you will trigger a cut-scene and spawn in villainous bosses. The bosses will also need to be defeated as they count towards villainous enemies. After defeating every villainous party in the game, you will find out the Mira is hiding out over on planet Kais. To travel to this planet, head over to your world map and then press . From here you can see the available planets to travel to. Head over to Land of the Kais, and then approach the final villainous enemy. (Mira)

Mira will be just like any other battle in the game, except he will be level 100. The good news is that Mira will be fighting alone, while you are able to add two other people to your party for the fight. It is unnecessary to grind XP to fight Mira, as long as you have plenty of healing items. For example, he can be defeated as long as you are at least in the 70-75 range with your healing items.

Most of your abilities will not do any damage to Mira (unless you are a higher level) so you will have to result in attacking him with your normal attack along side your comrades. Z Combos will also do damage to Mira. Just continue to attack Mira in between their special abilities while dodging them as much as possible. Use your healing items when you start getting low on health.

The good news is that if you happen to die in the middle of the fight, you get to keep all the items that you used. This means, dont be afraid of using your items. Stock up on items from a merchant, as well as Senzu Beans that you can get from the Korin Tower. The fight will last 15+ minutes if you are only in the level 70-75 range, so be ready for a lengthy fight.

Also be sure to bring two of your strongest characters to your party to help fight Mira. This will make things significantly easier. His attacks are easily dodged, its just that he has so much health that makes this fight last so long. The higher the level you are the easier it will be, but should not cause you too much trouble if you are loaded with healing items.

After successfully defeating Mira, you will unlock this trophy.

The Voice in My Head
Receive a telepathic message from King Kai.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully received a telepathic message from King Kai.

You will get random messages from King Kai as you are collecting crystals/minerals from mineral deposits. (Shown on your map) You can go up to these crystals and destroy them with your blasts to get minerals to upgrade your training room.

As you are collecting theses minerals, Kai will randomly pop up with a message at the bottom of your screen. Though you only need him to send one telepathic message for this trophy, you will need him to do it 20 total times for the Bronze Who Needs a Phone? trophy. The messages are completely random, and there is no real way to trigger Kai’s messages.

While you are getting materials to upgrade your training room, you will likely get around 10 messages from King Kai. Simply continue collecting minerals from the mineral deposits / mines and you will eventually get a message from Kai, followed by this trophy.

Who Needs a Phone?
Receive 20 telepathic messages from King Kai.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully received 20 telepathic messages from King Kai.

The messages are completely random, and there is no real way to trigger Kai’s messages. While you are getting materials to upgrade your training room, you will likely get around 10 messages from King Kai.

Simply continue collecting minerals from the mineral deposits / mines and you will eventually get a message from Kai. If you want to farm this trophy you can do it one of two ways. (Only do this if it is the last trophy you need, to save a little time)

You can go to a zone with a few mineral deposits within close range of each other, and fly from mine to mine while destroying the crystals. Kai is bound to message you every 5-10 crystals you destroy, and all the crystals will re-spawn if you fly far enough away from them or fast travel to a different zone.

You can also simply go to any mineral deposit and save / reload your saves after destroying all of the crystals inside. Doing so will re-spawn the crystals inside which will allow you to continue to destroy them over and over again until you get all 20 messages. Just be sure to save your game each time before you load it so you dont lose any progress.

Simply get 20 telepathic messages from Kin Kai, and you will unlock this trophy.

Wish Maker
Summon Shenron from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully summoned Shenron from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Before you can start making wishes from Shenron, you must first complete the second saga of the game known as the Frieza saga. Once you have successfully completed the sage, you will learn how the dragon balls in this game work. After collecting all 7 dragon balls, you will be able to make one of the following wishes:

  • Wish to fight any of the bosses that you have previously fought.
  • Wish to be awarded with Zeni
  • Wish to be awarded with Rare Materials
  • Wish to be awarded with Z Orbs

To find the dragon balls you must first open the world map to see where they are located. You will notice that some of the zones have a small dragon ball icon to the left of it. You can also hover over the zone, and it will tell you a dragon ball has appeared in the area. Fast travel to the area so that you can collect the dragon ball.

Once in the area you can open up your map with Touch Pad to see exactly where the dragon ball is located. You can then place a marker with the  button to make finding the dragon balls even easier. Once you have found all 7 dragon balls, you can now access the dragon ball tab from the pause menu to make a wish.

The first two wishes you make will allow you to wish for two items, while the rest of your wishes will allow you to wish for 3 items at a time. Each time you summons Shenron will count as one wish. Though you only need to summon him one time for this trophy, you will need to summon him 5 and then 10 total times for the Bronze Getting Greedy and Silver Shenron’s Favorite trophies.

I recommend always using your wishes on Zeni, Z Orbs, and Materials as these will all come in handy for the progression of your characters as well as the other trophies. Keep in mind that each time you make a wish, it will take 20 in game minutes to respawn the dragon balls so that you can collect them again. You can see how long you have to wait after you make a wish by clicking on  the dragon ball menu again.

Simply summon Shenron 1 time and make your first wish to unlock this trophy.

Getting Greedy
Summon Shenron 5 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Simply summon Shenron 5 times and make your first wish to unlock this trophy. Check out Bronze Wish Maker for more information.

Shenron’s Favorite upscale-245262160018212
Summon Shenron 10 times from the Dragon Ball menu to make a wish.

Simply summon Shenron 10 times and make your first wish to unlock this trophy. Check out Bronze Wish Maker for more information.

Push It to the Limit
Complete 10 challenges at a Training Grounds location with any character.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully completed 10 challenges at the training grounds with any characters.

Training grounds will first be introduced to you during the first saga after you visit the Kame house for the first time. The game will instruct you on how they work, and actually require you to complete a challenge with Goku before continuing on with the story. Training Grounds can be used to learn new abilities for all of your playable characters.

To complete a challenge simply go to the training grounds location with any of your characters. (Keep in mind that to unlock this trophy you must complete 10 challenges with a single character) Before starting a challenge you must also have enough D Medals to start the challenge. You can find D medals scattered across the open world as well as by progressing through the story, talking to Master Roshi after completing challenges, and opening your Z encyclopedia after unlocking new entries.

Challenges are simply battles against simulated characters with a recommended level. After defeating the enemies, you will complete the challenge and unlock whichever ability is tied to that specific challenge. If you wait to do this trophy until after you beat the game, you will be a high enough level to easily take on 10 challenges with one of your highest level characters. (Likely Goku or Gohan)

You can go to the training grounds at any time during the story as well as after the completion of the story. If it is too hard for you to complete one of the training missions, simply continue on with the story so that you level up some more.

After completing your 10th challenge at the training grounds with a single character, you will unlock this trophy.

Tough Enough Gold
Complete a Level 10 challenge in the Training Room.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully completed a level 10 challenge in the training room.

Do not get this confused with the training grounds. This is the hardest trophy in the game. You will unlock the training room naturally during the third saga of the game, known as the Cell Saga. The Training room is located in the capsule corporation. You can enter this building by fast traveling to it through the world map, or entering it from the town outside.

Once inside, you will take you first right and head down the hall. Enter the first entrance to the right, and you will notice a woman standing opposite side of the entrance. After talking to her you will notice that there are a few options you can choose from. You can use the modify option to upgrade the training room, as well as the other two options to actually do the training.

Before attempting this trophy, you must first get your training room to level 10. You do this by upgrading it through the “Modify” tab with materials you either buy or collect in the open world, Zeni, and D Medals. All of the materials can be found in mineral deposits, or even purchased from merchants. D medals are earned simply by picking them up in the open world, Master Roshi, completing missions, or opening the Z Encyclopedia after earning new entries.

You can get all of the Zeni you need by making wishes to Shenron after finding all 7 dragon balls, or selling expensive items to merchants. If you want to save all of your items and zeni, you can also make a save right before upgrading the training room from level 1 to 10. This way after you earn this trophy, you can simply reload your save and have all of your items and zeni back.

After upgrading your training room to level 10, you can now select the “train” option. You will now notice that you can do the level 10 training room with the character of your choice. You do not need to complete any of the other challenges in the training room, only the level 10 one. You can also only take one fighter into battle, so if you have a party it will be disbanded upon starting the challenge.

Before entering the challenge, it is best to have several (if not hundreds) of healing items just in case. You will be fighting 3 level 95+ fighters at the same time depending on which character you choose to fight with. Of course the higher the level you are the easier this challenge will be, but the fight can still be done even at the level 75 range.

The most difficult part about this fight is not only the potential level difference, but having to worry about dodging 3 enemies at once while only being able to focus on one at a time. To make matters even worse, your abilities will not do any damage to the enemies depending on your level.
You will likely take a lot of hits, but if you have a bunch of healing items you can just continue to heal until the challenge is complete.

Be sure to focus on one enemy at a time. The quicker you eliminate an enemy, the easier the fight will start to get. Also be sure to take your 3 strongest fighters into battle with you to make things easier. If you continue to struggle, feel free to grind some XP and come back to the fight at a later time. Just remember, you only need to complete the 10th challenge and not the previous 9 for this trophy.

After you have successfully completed a level 10 training room challenge, you will unlock this trophy.

Excavator
Destroy a boulder blocking a cave.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully destroyed a boulder blocking a cave.

Occasionally there will be boulders that are blocking mineral deposits. To locate a mineral deposit, travel to any zone that you want and then open the map. From the map you will notice white crystal like icons. These icons are used to indicate that there is a mineral deposit in that location, which contains materials you need to upgrade your training room.

There are several mineral deposits in the game but only some of them will be blocked by a boulder. You will know if there is a boulder blocking the cave by holding to use your senses when you get near the mineral deposit. If you notice a large purple object in front of the cave, that means that there is a boulder that you must destroy. To destroy a boulder, you must walk up to it while on the ground level and simply press .

The only catch is that boulders require you to be a certain level before you can destroy them. You will know what level you need to be when you approach the boulder. If it is too high a level, just come back later or after you complete the game. Once inside you will notice some crystals, Z Orbs, and usually at least 2 D Medals. You do not need to obtain the objects inside to unlock the trophy, simply destroying the boulder will do.

Once a boulder is destroyed it wall stay that way for good, so you will be unable to farm a single cave / boulder. Although you only need to destroy one boulder for this trophy, you will need to destroy 10 boulders for the Bronze Demolition Artist trophy.

Simply destroy your first boulder blocking a cave, and you will unlock this trophy.

There’s Nothing Like a Home-Cooked Meal!
Make a full-course meal.

This trophy is earned after successfully making your first full-course meal.

Full course meals consist of multiple smaller dishes that you must first create. Once all of the normal dishes have been cooked, you are then able to cook their respective full-course meals. Before you can make full-course meals you must first complete the first saga of the game. (The Saiyan Saga)

After completing the saga, the next story mission of the game will have you gather ingredients to create a full-course meal. Chi-Chi will instruct you to gather some ingredient’s before going back to Goku’s house to prepare the meal. Since the first meal is created as part of the story, this trophy is story related and cannot be missed.

Although you only need to create one meal for this specific trophy, you will need to create 5 total meals for the Bronze Only the Finest trophy. You can view that specific trophy for more information on creating full-course meals since this one is story related.

Simply play the first mission of the second saga and you will be forced to make a full-course meal, thus unlocking this trophy.

Only the Finest
Make 5 full-course meals.

This trophy is earned after successfully making your 5th full-course meal.

This will be the first official full-course meal you make, and it will count towards this trophy.

After successfully making your first full-course meal, you will then be able to find recipes / gather them around the open world and by talking to specific NPCs. Once you have unlocked the recipe for the full course meal, you will then be able to see what dishes need to be cooked in order to cook the actual meal. You get ingredients by destroying enemy bases, picking them up from trees, underwater, or simply buying them straight from the merchant. You can also get meat, as well as fish for ingredients.

Once you have all the ingredients for the dishes, you can then create them by going back to Chi-Chi. Each full-course meal will consist of 3 normal dishes. Once all 3 meals have been cooked, you will now see you are able to create the full-course meal that the dishes are tied too. Create the full-course meal to add to your total meals cooked.

Most meals grant you anything along the lines of extra HP, or even extra XP earned for a duration of time. Most meals will overall make you a stronger character. Also keep in mind that making the same meal over and over again will not work. You will need to cook 5 different full-course meals to unlock this trophy. This means you will need to find at least 4 recipes aside from the one that is granted to you at the beginning of the second saga.

If you are unable to buy the items you need from a merchant, you can press the  button while hovering over a zone on the world map to see if you can find those ingredients in that zone. Once you have all of the required ingredients to cook the dishes needed for the meals, you can go back to Goku’s house and have Chi-Chi do so. It does not matter which character / characters you use to turn the ingredients in.

After creating 5 different full-course meals, you will get this trophy.

Medal Madness
Collect 10 D Medals.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully collected 10 D Medals.

D Medals are a special currency in this game that are used to improve yourself in the training grounds, as well as upgrade the training room that you unlock later in the game. D medals are unlocked simply by completing missions, picking them up in the open world, or by periodically opening your Z Encyclopedia as you naturally unlock more entries.

Although you only need 10 D Medals for this trophy, you will need a total of 100 for the Silver Heavy Medal trophy. When playing the game you may notice these medals laying around the open world. You can pick them up with the  button. Most mineral deposits that require you to destroy a boulder to enter will usually have 2 inside of them as well.

You can see how many D Medals are located in each zone by hovering over the zone while in the world map. You will see to the left how many D Medals have been found for the respective zone. You will also get a lot of Medals from playing through story and sub story missions. If that wasnt enough, as you unlock more entries in your Z Encyclopedia you will also get more D Medals. (You must open the Z Encyclopedia by pressing  on the pause menu to get the medals)

You can also get a lot of medals from Master Roshi by talking to him as you complete Turtle School Training challenges, which also comes naturally. You will unlock over 100 medals from the Z Encyclopedia alone, which makes both of these trophies obtainable without even going out of your way to pick any up.

Simply collect 10 D Medals, and you will unlock this trophy.

This trophy is unlocked after you have acquired a super attack or a mastery in the super attack skill tree.

Super attacks are first learned through the training grounds scattered across the open world. You can learn attacks or a mastery for any of the playable characters. After learning new attacks you can then open up the super attack skill tree by pressing  on the character you want to upgrade from the Character menu.

Once here you will see that you are able to upgrade your attacks as well as your character. These upgrades will cost you Z Orbs which are found around the world, doing battles, or wishing for them from Shenron when you find all 7 Dragon Balls. By the time you beat the game and/or make a few wishes to Shenron, you will have more than enough Z Orbs to upgrade all of the characters as you please.

Although you only need to acquire one super attack or mastery for this trophy, you will need to acquire 50 followed by 100 for the Bronze Highly Skilled and Silver A Super Warrior Is Born trophies. The first super skill you will unlock as part of the story which makes this specific trophy story related.

Each skill you learn from the training grounds will count towards these trophies. Each skill you purchase with Z Orbs will also count towards these trophies. You can also spread the upgrades across all of the characters as they will all count towards your total skills acquired. If you are unable to continue upgrading a single character do to being too low of a level or not having the required skill from the training grounds, simply start putting upgrades towards another character.

Not Worth My Time
Get an instant victory on an enemy.

This trophy is unlocked after you have achieved an instant victory on an enemy.

Instant victories can only be obtained on the random parties flying around in the open world, that will normally start a battle if they catch up to you. To do an instant victory, you need to quickly fly into the enemy by using the  stick to speed up. You are only able to achieve instant victories on normal enemies, (Not villainous parties) and only enemies that are a lower level than you.

To see what level they are / see if you can achieve an instant victory on them, simply fly near them until the point you see and indicator that displays how many yards they are away from you. You can then use your senses by holding the  button. You will see a colored aura, or “Ki” around the enemy you are after. If it is blue, that means they are a lower level and you can earn an instant victory on the enemy. Any other color means that the enemy is too strong for you to achieve an instant victory on.

The enemies around the Kame House and Olive Village tend to be under you characters level. If you are attempting this trophy I suggest traveling to one of those locations. Once you find some enemies, hold the button to see if there is blue Ki around the enemies. If there is, use the and  buttons to lower or raise your character so that you are lined up perfectly with the Ki surrounding the enemies.

Once done, fly towards the enemy quickly by pushing forward on  and pressing it to move quickly. If you are lined up with the enemy and they are a lower level than you, you will fly right though them and it will insult in an instant victory. It will also give you any XP and Z Orbs you would have earned if you fought the battle normally. Be sure that you line yourself up perfectly with each enemy you encounter so that when you fly, you come in contact with the enemy / Ki.

If there is an enemy currently chasing you, you will be unable to achieve an instant victory. Just fly away until there isn’t anyone chasing you so that you can continue. Although you only need to get 1 instant victory for this trophy, you will need to achieve a total of 50 for the Bronze Can’t Touch This trophy.

Simply get an instant victory on a single enemy, and you will unlock this trophy.

Tell Me More

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed. You will unlock this trophy after you have successfully unlocked your first entry of the Z Encyclopedia.

There are 984 total entries for the Z Encyclopedia that are broken down into the following categories:

  • Relation Chart
  • Characters
  • World
  • Bestiary
  • Vehicles
  • Items
  • Terms
  • Cards
  • Videos
  • BGM

You unlock entries by meeting new characters, picking up new items, picking up collectibles, accessing new areas, fighting new enemies, and overall just by playing the game. The first entry you can collect is located inside your very own house. You can interact with this item as soon as you enter it and have Chi Chi create the first dish for you.

As soon as you pick it up you will unlock your first entry, as well as this trophy. You will need to also unlock 200 entries as well as 400 entries for the Silver Thirsty for Knowledge and Gold Fountain of Knowledge trophies. The good news is that you will unlock well over 400 entries just by playing the game which makes all three of these trophies story related.

You can access the Z Encyclopedia at any time by pressing the  button on the pause menu. After successfully obtaining your first entry, you will unlock this trophy.

Turtle School Trainee
Complete a Turtle School training challenge and report to Master Roshi.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully completed a Turtle School training challenge and report back to Master Roshi.

You can view Turtle School training challenges by going to the story tab of the pause menu, and then scrolling over with  to view the manual. If you scroll down the list, you will also be able to see all of the challenges that you have completed. You might notice that all of the challenges are very easy and straightforward, that is because they are.

Most, if not all of the Turtle School challenges will unlock by the time you complete the game. This is good because although you only need to complete one challenge for this trophy, you will need to complete 20 and then 50 challenges for the Bronze Turtle School Master and Silver Turtle School Legend trophies. Completing a challenge is not enough to earn this trophy. After completing a challenge you must then talk to Master Roshi to officially complete it and claim your rewards.

Master Roshi can be found outside the Kame house. If a challenge is completed, simply talk to him to complete it. Roshi will load you up with healing items, Special Items, D Medals, and more. If you have multiple challenges to turn in, just continue to talk to him until he stops rewarding you. You do not need to try for any of these challenges as all of the ones needed for these three trophies will unlock naturally.

The only reason this trophy is not marked as story related, is because you must talk to Roshi after the challenge has been completed. You can talk to him at any point during the game except for the final half of the last saga. (You can talk to him after completion of the game as well)

Simply turn in your first challenge from the Turtle School Training, and you will unlock this trophy.

Turtle School Master
Complete 20 Turtle School training challenges and report to Master Roshi.

The Power of Friendship
Use 10 Super Attack Assists.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully used 10 super attack assists.

Super attack assists can only be done when you have either 2 or 3 members in your party. You cannot attempt this trophy if you are by yourself. If you are unable to add people to your party, continue on with the story until you can, or just complete the story so you are free to change your party around as you please.

When you start a fight with 2 or more fighters, you will notice there is a support tab that you can activate by holding the  button. Once in this tab simply press one of the buttons indicated on the next screen. If done correctly, your other fighter will activate their ability. The ability does not need to make contact with an enemy. As long as the ability is activated, it will add to your total.

Each time you use an attack assist, you will need to wait a cool down period before you can use another. Depending on the fight, you can easily get this in a single battle. (Though the trophy is accumulative across all fights and does not need to be done in a single battle) If you do enough super attack assists in a single fight, you will be able to activate a “Z Combo” by pressing  + at the same time. You will need to do 10 Z Combos to additionally unlock the Bronze Z Combo Zealot trophy.

Simply use 10 super attack assists and you will unlock this trophy.

Z Combo Zealot
Perform 10 Z Combos.

This trophy is earned after you have successfully performed 10 Z Combos.

To perform a Z combo you must first have at least 2 or 3 fighters in your party at the same time. If you cannot use 2 or 3 fighters, you need to progress through the story and / or beat it so that you can change your party around freely.

Once you have additional fighters in your party, start any fight you want. Villainous fights, regular fights, boss fights, and even training room fights will all work for this trophy. This trophy is also accumulative and does not need to be done in a single fight. To perform a Z combo, you must first do enough super attack assists (Hold   and press one of the indicated buttons to perform one) to fill up the meter around your teammates icon.

If you are only playing with one other fighter then you only need to fill up the circular meter around their icon. If you are playing with 2 additional fighters, you will need to fill up each fighters support meter. Once the meters are full, you will notice that a new option becomes available and is shown above all of your controls to the left. It will tell you that you can now perform a Z combo by pressing +  at the same time.

If done correctly, your fighters will come together to perform the combo against whichever enemy you are currently locked on to. This combo will also do some massive damage to the enemy, and is no avoidable by them. If you happen to die after performing the combo in the middle of the fight, your progress will be lost and you will need to redo that one.

Simply perform a total of 10 Z Combos, and you will unlock this trophy.

Flashy Finish
Win a battle with a Super Finish.

This trophy is unlocked after you have successfully won a battle with a super finish.

Before you can get this trophy you must first unlock the ability to transform yourself during a fight. You can do this with any of the Super Saiyan transformations, or even the Kaioken transformation that you get early on in the game. Once you have one of these transformations unlocked, you can attempt this trophy.

This can be done during any fight. Regular enemies, villainous enemies, bosses, and even the training room challenges will work just fine for this. During a battle you will see a tail/meter to the right of your players icon. This must be filled up all the way before attempting this trophy. You will know it is full when it starts glowing.

Once the meter is glowing, be sure that you are transformed into one of your unlocked transformations. You do this by holding + and then pressing the button indicated on the next tab. Once you have successfully transformed and your meter is completely full, hold the  button to activate your surge. If done correctly, the meter will start to deplete.

Now all you must do is finish off the last enemy of the party/fight with one of your abilities / super attacks by holding  and selecting any of the abilities listed on the next tab. If this ability kills your opponent (be sure they are the last / only opponent left alive) then you will see a special animation that says “Super Finish” and you will unlock this trophy.

Just be sure that the final enemy left has low enough health to the point where your ability will kill them / finish them off. If you do not get the super finish screen after defeating your opponent, simply try again until you do. It is super easy to get this trophy by going to any of the training missions, and earning it there.

Once you have successfully ended a fight with a super finish, you will unlock this trophy.
