    Borderlands Review

In Borderlands, you will take the job of a bounty hunter, but what you didn’t know is the adventure you get sucked into that changes the whole planet. Here is our full Borderlands Review.

Borderlands is developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It was released on October 26, 2009, for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. A remastered version came out on April 3, 2019, for PC and Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. For this review, I have played the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

While Borderlands is now pretty old, it didn’t feel like it was an old game. Having played it a tiny bit back in 2014 but not having fun, I decided to try it again but this time with a friend. I would say this game aged like fine wine, the gameplay is just timeless and doesn’t differ much from Borderlands 3 other than this being kind of a lite version and even a tiny bit harder. Back in the day, I felt like the majority of games used to be hard, but in more recent years, games have become a lot easier to get more people into games, and there isn’t really anything wrong with it, but I miss the challenge sometimes. Borderlands gave me this challenge.

Borderlands is an open-world shooter rpg set on an alien planet Pandora. In Pandora, there are these things called Vaults, or in this game, they think there is just 1. Every character kinda plays the same other than their skills and ability, that’s where the make or break of the game comes in. If you don’t really pick the right skills you can kinda have a useless build, but luckily the internet has a ton of guides on how to make the best possible character for whatever you wanna do.

There are a lot of the same kinds of enemies that you just battle a lot. I think there are about 10 without the bosses because they are different most of the time and actually pretty cool, but I wish there was a bit more variation with its enemy design, but they only give them names for some reason. The bosses are kind of epic but at times they are super easy. There was this massive 4 legged monster that was just a bullet sponge that didn’t even manage to do any damage, so I wish they balanced some of them a little bit more.

One of the things Borderlands has plenty of is quests and loot, but sadly, most of the weapons you get from both quests and enemy drops are useless most of the time and are more of a way to get money early on. Later on in the game, when you get a good weapon you will use it for a pretty long time before actually changing it to something else. The majority of quests are actually really fun to do and don’t feel like I’m doing the same thing over and over again, but this is mainly due to the world it self as well, every person and quest has its own story that you are following besides the main quest.

The visuals are something that always got my interest in the game, even when I wouldn’t even play it. I always would look at cosplays, fan art, or just some random videos just because the art style is awesome and unique. Back in the day, this was really 1 of a kind type of game, but in recent years other developers have taken a crack at its art style on its own like Telltale.

I wish I had more to say about the game, but it’s just a lot of fun when you play with a friend, but solo? avoid at all costs because there isn’t any change in its gameplay or difficulty, so playing solo can be a real pain at times. When I played with my friend we still had the difficult parts, but it was just a lot more fun because I wasn’t going through it alone.
