Introduction:

Welcome to the Bioshock Remastered Trophy Guide!
Enjoy stepping into Rapture again 9 years later in this gorgeous remaster of the original 2007 game. My name is Cucumber and I will be your guide for getting this incredibly fun Platinum!

Roadmap:

First things first this guide will contain HEAVY SPOILERS If you never played this game before I STRONGLY recommend playing this game first then coming back to this guide to finish off the platinum. Another thing I STRONGLY suggest is doing this in 2 playthroughs, it is possible doing it in 1, however Survivor difficulty can and will beat you down especially for your first playthrough, I suggest Medium or Easy to begin with.

Step 1: Do your first playthrough on Easy or Medium whilst getting Collectibles, upgrading your weapons, and taking photos.

During this playthrough go through the game at your own pace while also following a video guide to get all the collectibles, I recommend PS5Trophies collectible guide for this.

DO NOT HARVEST ANY LITTLE SISTERS There is a Silver trophy that REQUIRES you to save EVERY LITTLE SISTER and DO NOT HARVEST THEM.

You will get the Research Camera after you talk to Peach Wilkins and get attacked by the Splicer in Neptune’s Bounty. Be sure to research EVERYTHING INCLUDING LITTLE SISTERS, TURRETS, SECURITY BOTS, AND SECURITY CAMERAS since they count towards the Research PhD trophy.
Be sure to start researching Little Sisters early on since they give so little research points towards their completion.

Tip: Big Daddies will start to become aggressive towards you when you get near Little Sisters so be quick when snapping photos of Little Sisters before the Big Daddies start attacking you especially if you are doing this in 1 playthrough as Big Daddies do a lot of damage on Survivor.

A few levels after you finish Neptune’s Bounty you will arrive at a place called Arcadia which will have a new station called U-Invent. Be sure that you start crafting all types of ammo for the Ammo Inventor trophy and that throughout the rest of the game you are crafting over 100 items for the Avid Inventor trophy.

If you cannot find the last little sister of the level backtrack and wander around the level again, you will most likely find her with a Big Daddy OR find a lone Big Daddy simply follow him around until goes to a Little Sister vent, he will eventually bang on the vent and a Little Sister will come out and start following him. Be sure to snap a photo while she’s coming out as you will most likely get an ACTION SHOT which will grant you bonus points and research them faster.

After progressing through the story you will eventually arrive at FORT FROLIC and you will meet a character named Sander Cohen. He will task you with killing 3 people and taking photos of their corpses and put them on display to finish his Masterpiece. Once you complete this objective you will be given a choice to leave the area and progress through the rest of the story or kill him. DO NOT KILL OR ATTACK SANDER COHEN KILLING HIM WILL LOCK YOU OUT OF 3 TROPHIES LATER IN THE GAME.

While you’re at Fort Frolic be sure to look around for some slot machines when you find one approach one and save. Once you do that start using the slot machine until you get a jackpot and get the Lucky Winner trophy.

Two levels after Fort Frolic you will reach a level called Olympus Heights. After progressing through the level you will come to a bunch of apartment rooms Sander Cohen has a room so enter it and you will see two Houndi Splicers dancing in the room now either attack them or destroy the record player this will cause Sander Cohen to come down from a previously locked room.

KILL SANDER COHEN AND TAKE A PHOTO OF HIS CORPSE this will unlock the Irony trophy. Walking up the stairs to the room will also unlock Found Cohen’s Room. There will also be a weapon upgrade station in there that is required for the Weapon Specialist trophy hence why killing Sander Cohen at Fort Frolic will lock you out of 3 trophies.

After this point continue following a video collectible guide to wrap up the collectible trophies which should end in Point Prometheus if you are here and missing a collectible trophy you can still go back to almost every part of the game meaning you can go back and search for what you missed. You will not unlock the Little Sister Savior trophy until after you finish the final boss so don’t worry if you saved all of them and you reach Point Prometheus and the trophy didn’t pop.

Step 2: Survivor playthrough with Vita-Chambers disabled
Luckily for us, Bioshock has a New Game Plus mode meaning you can start your Survivor playthrough with your upgrades, Plasmids, and Weapons. However, you will have to reequip somethings when you reach a Gene Bank.

Before you start this new playthrough go Into your settings and turn off Vita-Chambers so if you die you won’t be forced to spawn in one but you will need to revert to your last save so save often.

WARNING: THE TROPHY Gold I CHOSE THE IMPOSSIBLE IS BUGGED. THERE IS A CHANCE WHEN YOU TURN THE GAME OFF OR RESTART YOUR CONSOLE, THE GAME MAY REVERT YOUR DIFFICULTY TO MEDIUM BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR DIFFICULTY TO SEE IF IT REVERTED IT WHEN YOU LOAD BACK INTO THE GAME. IF IT DID RELOAD A PREVIOUS SAVE BEFORE CONTINUING.

Once you do this and finish you Survivor playthrough you will unlock Gold A Man Chooses and Gold I Chose the Impossible. Since Gold Brass Balls and Seriously Good at This are stackable you will also unlock these once you finish your Survivor playthrough.
Congratulations this and the Platinum Trophy will now be yours.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:
Seriously Good At This
Gold A Man Chooses
Gold I Chose the Impossible
Gold Brass Balls
40-platinum Platinum Trophy

Tips and Strategies:

  • Survivor difficulty will be brutal so I recommend coming back in your new game plus playthrough so you can be well equipped. However, if you want this done in one playthrough here are some tips
  • The Electro Bolt plasmid will be your best friend when dealing with both common enemies and Big Daddies, I would recommend always upgrading that first alongside the Health and Eve bars since in Survivor enemies do significantly more damage and plasmids consume a lot of Eve.
  • Other useful plasmids would be Target Dummy which places a dummy that enemies will attack first giving you time to heal, reload, or recharge your Eve. Insect Swarm is another great plasmid that gives you time to do what you need to do since enemies try to swat the bees away and as a bonus, the bees do damage it’s a great plasmid to get you out of a pinch.
  • A great weapon when taking on Big Daddies is the Shotgun since it does a good deal of damage with just regular bucks but also the other ammo types such as the Electric Buck (Electro bucks also have an added bonus of stunning enemies) and the Exploding Buck (This also sets enemies on fire) are great damage dealers when fighting Big Daddies. The Exploding Buck ammo type can also be crafted at U-Invent stations too, making them a reliable ammo type. I would also highly recommend upgrading the Shotgun first since it’s a big crutch on Survivor.
