Welcome to the A Tale Of Paper Trophy Guide!
A Tale Of Paper is a wonderful and well-made platformer puzzle game, with beautiful graphics and ambience. Follow the adventures of Line a paper creature, who can use origami to change shape and progress through the story. It was an utter joy to play I hope you enjoy it too 🙂
This game consists of 8 chapters, and each chapter will have just one collectable in it. There will be several story related trophies for just completing the game, and the remaining trophies will be for doing little simple miscellaneous actions, but remember nothing is really missable as you can access chapter select at any point.
Step 1: Complete the game. And if you want to do everything in one go: Grab the 1 collectable from each level & Grab the levels miscellaneous trophies.
Either just play and enjoy the game blind and come back here later to mop up any trophies you may have missed, or use the video guide below to grab everything as you go.

Step 2: Collectable or miscellaneous trophy clean-up.
You may already have all the trophies by now but if you have missed anything just use this guide and mop up whatever is left via chapter select.
During this step you’ll earn all the miscellaneous and collectable trophies:

Chapter 1 – Home.
The Journey begins Trophy (1/18) – When you open the first door.
Roomba Rider Trophy (2/18) – Stand on the Roomba (floor cleaning machine) for 10 seconds.
Origami Beginner Trophy (3/18) – For interacting with the book that teaches you how to become a frog.
Crazy Legs Trophy (4/18) – As the frog jump 10 times in a row.
Now You See Me… Trophy (5/18) – In the room with the collectable and the key, open the vent at the back, to find a secret friend.
Collectable (1/8) – In the same room as the last trophy and the key, as the frog jump up to the beams by the ceiling to find this collectable.
Chapter 2 – The Attic.
Basketball hoop (1/2) – When you have learnt the ability to turn into a ball of paper, jump through the basketball hoop as the ball of paper.
Moving Out Trophy (6/18) – For exiting the attic.
Collectable (2/8) – On the outside ledges just after exiting the attic, jump to the ledge on the left to see this collectable.
Chapter 3 – Sewers.
Collectable (3/8) – At the start of the level, go over the plank to find this collectable on the right.
Bad Swimmer Trophy (7/18) – When you first see the sewer water just keep going into it 7 times.
Chapter 4 – Sewers Core.
Collectable (4/8) – At the top when you have just done the coloured pipe valve puzzle, go into the room on the left and at the back you will see this collectable along the ledge.
King Fisherman Trophy (8/18) – After doing the the coloured pipe valve puzzle, back at the bottom turn the electricity on by the water, and jump on the dead fish electrified in the water.
Chapter 5 – Nest.
I Believe In You… Trophy (9/18) – Let the spider kill you 10 or more times.
Collectable (5/8) – At the end of the spider chase, grab this collectable from under the ledge before you go through the exit pipe.
Nest’s Finest Trophy (10/18) – Complete the whole spider chase without dying.
Not Your Black & White Boy Trophy (11/18) – For completing the spider chase level.
Chapter 6 – Rooftops
Collectable (6/8) – You will find this collectable on the ledge of an air vent accessible by the small slanted roof.
Good Deed Trophy (12/18) – When you see the blue ball push it off the balcony ledge on the left.
Basketball hoop (2/2) – In the same place as the blue ball, jump through the basketball hoop as the ball of paper.
Professional Dunker Trophy (13/18) – For jumping through the 2 basketball hoops.
Chapter 7 – Woods
Not Over Yet… Trophy (14/18) – Story trophy for reaching the woods level.
Collectable (7/8) – When you have learnt the ability to change into a paper bird, jump up on the birdboxes to find this collectable.
Chapter 8 – Observatory
Educational Visit Trophy (15/18) – Story trophy for when you are going around the swirly path around the planets.
Collectable (8/8) – On the swirly path, when you see the saturn planet with rings, jump on the ledge of the rings to find this collectable hidden at the back.
Back Together Trophy (16/18) – For completing the game!

Dedicated Historian Trophy (17/18) – When you have completed the game, and found all of the collectables, back at the title screen select ‘Extras’ and here is where the collectables trophy will unlock.

When being a ball, score at every basketball basket
There are 2 basketball hoops in the game, when you reach them go through them as the paper ball. It has registered if you see the confetti.

*NOTE: This trophy will not unlock, until after you have all the collectables and completed the game, then on the title screen select ‘EXTRAS’ and this is where the trophy will unlock.
There are 8 collectables total, 1 in each chapter of the game.
Chapter 1 – Home Collectable.
Up high on the beams by the ceiling in the same room as the key:
Chapter 2 – Attic Collectable.
Near the end of the level when you have exited the attic as the paper ball and are on the outside ledges, go to the ledge on the left to find this collectable:
Chapter 3 – Sewers Collectable.
At the start of the level go straight over the plank to find this collectable on the right:
Chapter 4 – Sewers Core Collectable.
When you’ve just done the coloured pipe puzzle on the top floor, go into the room on the left, and at the back off the ledge you will see this sneaky collectable:
Chapter 5 – Nest Collectable.
At the end of the level when you’ve finished the spider chase you will see this collectable under the ledge by the exit pipe:
Chapter 6 – Rooftops Collectable.
This collectable will be on top of an air vent, accessible from the small slanted roof:
Chapter 7 – Woods Collectable.
When you have learnt the ability to become a paper bird, climb the birdboxes to find this collectable on the top ledge:
Chapter 8 – Observatory Collectable.
When you are going around the swirly path you will see the saturn planet with its rings that you can jump on. Jump on them to find this sneaky collectable at the back of the planet:

Make a new…friend?
Chapter 1 – Home
After you have learnt the ability to unscrew vents, when you are back in the room with the collectable and the key, open the vent at the back to find a secret friend.
Jump 10 times in a row with the frog without changing form
Chapter 1 – Home.
In chapter 1 you will learn the ability to become a paper frog. As the frog simply jump 10 times in a row.
Ride the roomba for 10 seconds without falling
Chapter 1 – Home.
There will be a few throughout the game but you will first see a Roomba (floor cleaning machine) in Chapter 1 – Home.
Simply jump on one and hang tight for 10 seconds until the trophy unlocks.
Return the ball on the rooftops to its owner
In chapter 6 – Rooftops.
When you see the blue ball push it off the balcony on the left to return it to its owner.
Die from water 7 times on the sewers
In Chapter 3 – Sewers.
Just die in the water 7 times.

Die more than 10 times in the spider chase
In Chapter 5 – Nest.
Just let the spider eat you 10 or more times.
Survive the spider chase without dying anytime
In Chapter 5 – Nest.
Complete the whole spider chase without dying.
If you die just press pause, then select ‘Restart Level’ and try again.
This is the trickiest trophy in the game and may take you a few tries to get, but it’s not so bad 🙂
You jumped on a dead fish…congrats
In Chapter 4 – Sewers Core.
After you have done the coloured pipe puzzle on the top floor, back down at the bottom floor by the water interact with the button to turn the electricity on. Which will electrify the fish. Then simply jump on one of the dead fish!
